Shemar Moore Reacts to S.W.A.T. Getting Canceled Again

Shemar Moore still has some action left in him.

Following the announcement that the series S.W.A.T., initially taken off air in 2023 only to be unexpectedly reinstated, was being terminated once more, the actor shared his disappointment at the show’s second sudden finale.

In a video shared on Instagram on March 6th, Shemar, aged 54, expressed his disappointment that S.W.A.T.’s eighth season is once again not reaching its finale, stating it three weeks away. He added, “It’s unfortunate; it’s sad.” On set that day, he had to give a speech to the crew, praising them as the best in Hollywood, noting their kindness and dedication. He emphasized that they are good people, always showing up for work and putting in extra effort for their families while tirelessly contributing to making S.W.A.T..

Twice in a row, over two years, our show hasn’t been cancelled – I can’t think of any other shows that can claim that. It’s either zero or we’re very close to the zero mark, but we did it, and we’re extremely proud.

Shamar, who acted alongside Jay Harrington and David Lim in the CBS drama, expressed his opinion that CBS shouldn’t have canceled the show.

He stated, “Our series became a global favorite on television.” Then, he addressed CBS, “If you’ve finished your discussions regarding finances, appearances, and policies, I believe you’re not choosing wisely.

Though he didn’t agree with CBS’s recent choice, there was only admiration in his heart for the network that provided him a long-term home throughout his 30-year career in show business.

Once you’re finished,” Shemar expressed, “I want to genuinely and sincerely thank you from the depths of my heart. With this being my 31st year in this business, it makes up around 90% of my career thanks to CBS. The Young and the Restless, Criminal Minds, and now S.W.A.T. – I’m grateful for the honor, the opportunity, and the ride you’ve given me. If you ever decide differently, know that you’ll bring smiles to many people.

Still, he did express being open to continuing the show at a new home.

Hey Netflix, what’s up?” he jokingly asked. “Netflix, if there’s a series that everyone’s talking about and you’d like some new collaborators, we’d be thrilled to join in. It’s NBC, FOX, and ABC – we’re inviting you all to our backyard barbecue. Fancy a chat?

Rest assured, our team from the S.W.A.T. family hasn’t stopped pursuing criminals yet. There will still be high-speed chases involving helicopters, motorcycles, and cars, as well as explosive action. However, if we are compelled to end this journey, we would express gratitude for the ride. It was a wonderful experience, filled with excitement and smiles. The viewers have been tuning in, and that’s what matters most. But should it truly come to an end, I will depart with dignity.

Currently out of sight, Shemar mentioned that he’s going to be preoccupied pursuing someone else – Jesiree Dizon’s 4-year-old daughter named Frankie.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m brimming with anticipation for the upcoming phase in my life. Both professionally, as a proud father to my little girl Frankie, and personally. I’ve got more to give, more stories to tell, and I’m not slowing down! My knees might be battle-worn, but they’re ready to carry me forward. I’ve shed 20 lbs, and I’m eagerly preparing for the journey ahead. But if this is goodbye, CBS, I want to express my gratitude for the experiences shared.

The Fox Game Show is an engaging, amusing, and intellectually stimulating television program that challenges the nation’s brainpower, as confirmed by scientific research. It presents a sequence of questions where there’s always one correct answer, but also potential paths leading to a series of entertaining incorrect answers. Regardless if you’re a contestant competing for the cash prize or a viewer playing with friends and relatives, answering enough questions accurately could earn you entry into the 1% Club – an exclusive club comprising individuals who can truthfully claim they outsmarted 99% of the population.

Season two will be hosted by Joel McHale.

I’m thrilled to share that as an ardent admirer, I’ve learned that my beloved Mike White’s Emmy-winning series has been granted a fourth season even before its third one premieres this year.
