Oliva “Livvy” Dunne has given her final salute.
On Instagram, the gymnast from Louisiana State University shared that she won’t be able to take part in her senior celebration because of an injury she sustained.
Hello everyone! I’m sorry to say this, but I’ve been managing an injury called an avulsion fracture of the patella, which means I won’t be able to participate in our senior night event,” she posted on her Instagram. “It’s truly disappointing not to have one final chance to compete at PMAC. Tiger supporters, thank you so much for your kindness throughout my journey!
The news comes after a month of the gymnast being out due to a knee injury.
Despite concluding her university-level gymnastics journey, the fifth-year senior hailing from Hillsdale, New Jersey continues to triumph. This accomplished gymnast has garnered a significant social media presence during her team tenure. She gained prominence on TikTok at the onset of the pandemic and currently boasts an impressive 5.3 million Instagram followers.
Since the rule took effect during the summer following Dunne’s freshman year, she became a strong candidate for Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) contracts.
Initially, the 22-year-old struggled a bit, but she eventually got the opportunity to model for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. In fact, an image of her was displayed on a billboard in Times Square.
In an interview with ESPN in January, Dunne admitted that he initially found it difficult to cope with the intense scrutiny, particularly at the beginning. At just 18 years old, when everything suddenly changed for him, he felt overwhelmed and as if he couldn’t catch his breath, fearing every mistake he might make.
However, she quickly realized what was really important—keeping her focus on her sport.
Experience on social media teaches you that you’ll encounter criticism and negativity, particularly when you achieve success. However, I believe having public attention has been an incredible gift in my life, and it seems to have positively impacted the sport of gymnastics as well, which was a significant factor for me in continuing my involvement.” – Dunne, who began dating MLB’s Paul Skenes in 2023, explained.

In their college years, these LSU athletes crossed paths through mutual acquaintances; his closest friend was dating her roommate. The idea of them being romantically involved began circulating in June 2023 when the gymnast shared a TikTok video donning the pitcher’s uniform.
Two months later, Paul Skenes confirmed their relationship.
He expressed his hope to a reporter from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that she could attend a baseball game and simply enjoy herself. He admitted it was frustrating for him, but he acknowledged he had no power to make it happen. They both lack control over the situation. He added that as things improve in his career, he hopes this will become a reality for her.

The well-known social media personality looked radiant in an eye-catching blue gown, snuggling with her favorite person at their first shared wedding event.
Away from Baton Rouge, during the holiday season, the pair discovered themselves in the bustling city of New York. Interestingly, Paul affectionately nicknamed his partner as the “top tour guide” of the city.
Livvy enthusiastically supported her boyfriend during his first Major League Baseball game for the Pittsburgh Pirates, opposite the Chicago Cubs. She honored the occasion by publishing a heartfelt message on Instagram, titled, “Great job, Buc!
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’ve found myself completely captivated by the allure of my summer crush – the world of sports. I can’t help but feel my emotions stirred as I watch him play his games, finding myself deeply invested in his performance.
She shared with the New York Post, “I find myself more anxious watching Paul perform because it’s a different feeling when you’re not the one doing it and you’re not in command. However, I have full faith in his skills, and instead of letting my anxiety overwhelm me, I transform it into excitement for him.
The baseball player shared highlights of his summer on Instagram, with many pictures showcasing Livvy, as well as a sweet appearance by Roux.
The pair strolled along the red carpet at the MLB All-Star Game, holding hands together. Meanwhile, the athlete paused to express her delight over her All-Star partner.
She exclaimed on the red carpet, as captured in a video shared on X by MLB, that his pitching power leaves her speechless. It’s amazing and watching him is pure delight. He’s not just an outstanding baseball player, but an exceptional individual too.
