Recently, Hazelight Studios released its third and most expansive game titled “Split Fiction“. Remarkably, even though this isn’t their first or second title, the indie developer continues to maintain a strong pace in the gaming industry.
In a recent conversation with The Washington Post, Hazelight’s founder Josef Fares disclosed that the game “It Takes Two” has surpassed sales of 23 million copies globally. Meanwhile, their inaugural title, “A Way Out,” released in 2018, has reached 11 million units sold.
Both games have experienced significant surges in sales since their earlier reported figures. By October last year, It Takes Two had sold an impressive 20 million units, indicating a further increase in sales due to the excitement generated by Split Fiction. On the other hand, A Way Out was reported to have reached 9 million units sold by June last year.
It appears that Split Fiction took off impressively from the get-go. While Electronic Arts (EA) and Hazelight haven’t disclosed any official statistics, the game hit a high of over 197,000 simultaneous players on Steam after its release, surpassing the all-time peak for It Takes Two by more than double.
