Resident Evil Has 6 Free Downloads for Fans

Fans of the Resident Evil game series by Capcom have access to no less than six free downloadable titles, though not all fans may qualify for this offer. The franchise, which originated in 1996 and remains active today, has gained renewed vigor with recent releases like the Resident Evil 4 Remake and Resident Evil Village. In terms of its video game presence, it’s fair to say that Resident Evil is more powerful and current than ever. However, as a franchise encompassing films as well, there are debates about its relevance compared to its past glory, largely due to the Resident Evil movie series losing momentum.

For fans yearning for the classic Resident Evil films, they can enjoy six of them complimentary with a PlayStation Plus Premium membership. Do keep in mind that while a basic PlayStation Plus membership is necessary, it’s the Premium tier that provides access to these movies. Unfortunately, a PS Plus Essential or PS Plus Extra subscription does not suffice for this purpose.

The following Resident Evil movies – Resident Evil: Afterlife, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Resident Evil: Damnation, Resident Evil: Degeneration, Resident Evil: Extinction, and Resident Evil: Vendetta – are available for free with a PS Plus Premium subscription.

If you’re among those who didn’t know that a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription includes complimentary films, you’re definitely not the only one. In fact, it seems many PS Plus members are unaware of this benefit, which currently offers access to as many as 95 free movies for subscribers.

regretfully, this collection of movies seems quite unusual, combining parts (but not all) of the Resident Evil film series with some Japanese adaptations. Notably absent from this group are the first movie, Resident Evil, as well as the final two installments, Resident Evil: Retribution and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.

Regarding the Resident Evil film series, enthusiasts of Resident Evil received news about an upcoming movie from the director of Barbarian, Zach Cregger. As per this update, the fresh Resident Evil film is planned for a theater release on September 18, 2026.
