The Nintendo eShop has been upgraded recently, and it seems to hint at more than just games for the rumored Nintendo Switch 2; instead, it’s teasing exclusive games specifically designed for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console. Anticipating the first-ever Nintendo Direct on April 2, it looks like Nintendo is revamping the eShop, possibly in preparation for not only the release of Nintendo Switch 2 games but also pre-orders for these anticipated titles.
It appears clear that the upcoming games for the Nintendo Switch 2 at its launch will feature the newly revealed Mario Kart game. However, we’re still in the dark about what other titles might be included. Potential options could range from popular series like Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, Super Smash Bros., Metroid, F-Zero, Star Fox, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Advance Wars, Splatoon, Pikmin, Luigi’s Mansion, Pokemon, and many other major Nintendo franchises. While it’s possible that any of these could be part of the launch lineup, at this moment they remain possibilities only. For those concerned that the Nintendo Switch 2 might not offer any exclusives beyond the new Mario Kart game, there seems to be no need for worry anymore.
It has been pointed out that Nintendo has made an update to their Nintendo eShop, and what’s interesting is that it’s not just about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console, but also the games designed exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2.
Nintendo eShop members get a special deal: Enjoy discounts on two selected digital games from our Game Voucher collection (note that this does not apply to games exclusively available for the Nintendo Switch 2 system).
It’s not definitive that the Nintendo Switch 2 will launch with multiple exclusive games, but it could hint at that possibility. Moreover, the timing of this update before the upcoming Nintendo Direct might imply these new Switch 2 exclusive games will be unveiled during that presentation. For the moment, however, let’s consider this all speculation.
As a dedicated gamer, I can’t hide my excitement as just eight games for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 have been confirmed so far! This means that Nintendo and their partners are in for a busy ride, revealing new titles before the console hits the shelves later this year.
With whispers of a potential summer release, which would mark the first summer launch by Nintendo since the N64 era, it seems the developers might only have a limited timeframe to squeeze all these exciting announcements into the schedule. The anticipation is building!
Currently, Nintendo hasn’t made any comments regarding the anticipated update on their Nintendo eShop or the buzz it’s generated. Given several factors, it’s unlikely that this situation will alter, but should anything change, we’ll promptly modify our report.
