Forza Horizon 5 on PS5 Requires a Microsoft Account

In simple terms, the highly anticipated “Forza Horizon 5” from Playground Games will be available on PS5 next month, marking the series’ long-awaited arrival on Sony gaming consoles. However, as per the official Q&A, it’s important to note that you’ll require a Microsoft account to play this game.

To use your PS5 for the first time, you’ll need to connect it with your PlayStation Network account. This connection is permanent, and though you can disconnect later, it will always be associated with that particular Microsoft account. This isn’t a new procedure; the “title-by-title basis” implies that each game may require individual linking or activation.

In addition to playing Rare’s “Sea of Thieves”, you needed to connect to a Microsoft account and utilize Xbox Live services. On the other hand, Obsidian’s “Grounded” initially demanded a connection for multiplayer on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, but a later update eliminated this requirement.

On April 29th, Forza Horizon 5 is set to debut on PS5. Premium Edition owners will get early access starting from April 25th. This launch coincides with the introduction of a new feature called Horizon Realms, which enables players across all platforms to delve into a carefully chosen assemblage of earlier Evolving Worlds.
