4 EastEnders spoilers next week

1. Nigel Bates’s dementia symptoms causes a distressing mix-up

Nigel continues to struggle with his memory as he lives with young onset dementia.

Following a tough day, Nigel confides in Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) as she has recently become privy to his condition due to overhearing him discuss it with Phil Mitchell several weeks ago.

Unfortunately, the week takes a troubling twist as Honey (Emma Barton) encourages Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) to truthfully disclose Phil’s location to Lexi Pearce (Isabella Brown).

Billy refuses, but he’s angry when Nigel nearly slips up over the subject in front of Lexi.

Later on, Nigel encounters Lexi engrossed in one of Phil’s letters penned during his suicide attempt. However, he mistakenly assumes that Lexi is his adopted daughter, Clare (Gemma Bissix).

Lexi rushes off to see Billy, now convinced that Phil is dead!

After another altercation with Billy, Linda consoles Nigel. However, will the expansive Mitchell family discern that Nigel isn’t feeling well?

UK-based organization, “Dementia Support,” offers a specialized helpline manned by trained nurses known as Admiral Nurses. They can provide guidance on various care aspects for individuals dealing with dementia. To reach them, simply dial: 0800 888 6678.

2. Phil Mitchell’s time in the mental health unit is explored

As a movie buff, I’d put it like this: “I ask Billy and Honey if Grandad Phil is gone, but it hits Billy hard. Honey and Sharon Watts then locate Billy and disclose that Callum Highway will share with me the reality – my grandfather’s fate.

Billy expresses his regret to Callum and Lexi, and then all three proceed to visit Phil at the mental health facility, accompanied by Linda and Nigel.

EastEnders will subsequently depict Phil’s journey towards overcoming depression and suicidal thoughts, starting with his initial week at the treatment facility.

In the beginning, Phil finds it hard to adjust and is hesitant to share deeply during his therapy appointments and group exercises.

However, with the passage of time, Phil encounters a fellow patient named Gaz (portrayed by Keith Allen). Sharing similar life journeys, they form a close connection.

Phil strikes up a rapport with Gaz, but is saddened to learn that he will soon be leaving the unit.

Over time, Phil works through his internal struggles, eventually with the assistance of support worker Yasmin, comes to a point where it’s appropriate for him to leave the care facility.

Phil listens to voicemails from Sharon and Nigel before leaving the unit.

Is this the start of a positive new beginning for Phil?

3. Nicola Mitchell is caught out after shock accusation

Four years have passed since Harry Mitchell’s (Elijah Holloway) girlfriend Shireen vanished, and the atmosphere grows heavy with anticipation. One day, Harry receives an unexpected visit from Shireen’s brother Asad, who now doubts that Harry had anything to do with what happened to Shireen.

In my own words, I found myself standing vigil with Nicola at Harry’s Barn, an act aimed to help Harry remember the cherished memory of Shireen. Yet, the tranquility was shattered when Asad unexpectedly appeared, leveling a startling accusation against Teddy Mitchell, or Roland Manookian, for Shireen’s tragic demise.

Harry intercedes on behalf of his father, who refutes the allegations, yet eventually pleads with Teddy to disclose the facts. Simultaneously, Nicola seeks out a secretive individual named Benji to learn about Shireen’s whereabouts.

As the week progresses, Nicola encounters a sloppy Harry who avoids her, whereas Teddy conferences with Junior Knight (Micah Balfour) about their business strategies.

Or simply:
Nicola faces Harry’s cold shoulder this week, while Teddy chats with Junior Knight (Micah Balfour) on their business ideas.

In simpler terms, Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) shares with Nicola that there’s a risky supply of drugs circulating, and it doesn’t take long before Teddy catches Nicola on the phone with a drug dealer. As a result, she feels compelled to confess about her involvement in dealing drugs.

Harry gets into an argument with Felix Baker (played by Matthew Morrison), influenced by alcohol or drugs. Eventually, Teddy and Nicola manage to bring Harry back home. Later on, Nicola attempts to persuade Teddy to reconsider his backing of Junior’s business endeavors.

At the Boxing Gym, Teddy expresses to Sharon that his feelings for her haven’t changed, followed by him phoning Junior to finalize their agreement – a matter he chooses not to share with Nicola.

But what else is Nicola hiding after her drug dealing is exposed?

4. Jean Slater and Ruby Allen clash over Martin Fowler’s funeral

In the café, Jean offers to help Ruby plan Martin’s funeral, but Ruby dismisses her efforts.

Gillian Taylforth’s character, Kathy Cotton, offers Jean some guidance regarding Ruby, which eventually leads to both Jean and Ruby deciding to collaborate on the funeral arrangements jointly.

Jean pays a visit to Kathy to express gratitude, and Kathy, despite reservations, lends a hand to Jean and Ruby in their planning. However, Kathy finds herself stuck between the two when they disagree fiercely on their conflicting thoughts!

As Martin’s family rows a boat, Amy Mitchell (played by Ellie Dadd) and Avani Nandra-Hart (portrayed by Aaliyah James) work to comfort his adopted daughter, Lily Slater (character played by Lillia Turner), in her moments of grief.

Can everyone pull together to honour their beloved Martin?
