DeAnna Pappas’ Shocking Arrest After Bitter Ex Clash: What Happened?

DeAnna Pappas is facing legal trouble.

Previously starring on ‘The Bachelorette’, the woman was taken into custody by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department due to a domestic battery allegation following an incident with her former spouse, Stephen Stagliano, early in the morning of February 27th. Later that day, she was granted $20,000 bail.

In January 2023, the couple who have children named Addison (age 11) and Austin (age 9) declared that they would be ending their 11-year marriage. The divorce became official in June of the same year.

A week following DeAnna’s arrest, additional details emerged regarding the alleged altercation between DeAnna and Stephen. This was due to a declaration filed by Stephen’s mother, Lynn Stagliano, on March 7th. According to court documents obtained by TopMob News, she stated that she could distinctly smell alcohol on DeAnna’s breath when she picked Austin up from DeAnna’s home for school.

On the very same day, the 43-year-old woman submitted a domestic violence petition against Stephen, aged 40, accusing him of numerous instances of verbal and physical abuse, frequently in front of their two kids. She also described an incident that occurred the night she was arrested, outlining the alleged events.

In the petition, DeAnna stated that she contacted her husband on February 26, the night of the arrest. Their daughter, who has special needs, had asked to stay at his place, and so he came over. According to DeAnna, once he arrived, Stephen claimed that she needed to walk closer to him so he could check if she had been drinking by smelling her breath.

The reality star added, “I had not consumed any alcohol.”

Next, DeAnna mentioned that she chose to disregard his remarks and headed towards the garage, trying to close the garage door as she went.

The petition stated, “I overheard sounds coming from behind, so I looked back. There I saw Stephen entering my garage after me.

After several tries to get the garage door closed, DeAnna mentioned that Stephen insisted on staying there, and he manually lifted the door once more to prevent it from shutting.

At this moment, DeAnna expressed her concern for her safety and decided to return inside the house. Upon listening to him search through what she assumed was either the garage or the dumpster, she stated that she stepped outside again towards the car to check if he might have taken some of her belongings.

According to DeAnna’s statement in the petition, Stephen seized my hands, pulling me forcefully, and then aggressively shoved me. He pushed me backwards a second time. Overwhelmed with fear that he might harm me, I swiftly returned inside the house, locked the door, and waited for the police to respond.

After the arrival of the police, DeAnna stated that she had been informed by her ex that she was accused of being intoxicated, and that he was filing domestic violence charges against her.

Stephen claimed to the Sheriff that I was the one who attacked him, which wasn’t true,” she declared in her petition. “Despite Stephen’s accusations, no one asked me to take an alcohol test. In reality, the officer who apprehended me showed no signs of believing I was under the influence.

Additionally, she claimed various instances of domestic abuse, some occurring from as early as 2016, during her pregnancy with their youngest child. According to her account, Stephen subjected her to verbal attacks, kept her confined, and physically harmed her without any prior provocation.

Moreover, I passionately contend that he recklessly disseminated misinformation, launching what seemed like an unrelenting crusade to declare that I’d been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and even concocting stories about supposedly having evidence from our marriage counselors.

She stated, “Stephen has been deceiving me, influencing me, and mentally tormenting me for many years. His recent actions are simply an attempt to exert control over me. During our divorce proceedings, he’s been trying to portray me as an excessive drinker.
