How To Complete Lackey In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Once you’ve wrapped up your studies at Laboratores in the hypothetical Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you’ll have the liberty to engage in activities of your choosing. With Hans absent, you’re now able to traverse the Trosky region and take on various optional missions. An intriguing side quest that catches the eye is Lackey, which can be initiated by conversing with Zlata.

In this task, you are required to locate Zlata’s husband, Vostatek. However, it won’t be straightforward. The task may prove challenging due to Lackey’s complex nature, as some of your choices will lead to varying results. We will provide guidance on how to successfully complete this quest and outline the optimal outcome.

How To Start The Lackey Quest

You can commence this task by making your way towards the western road leading from Tachov. The journey is somewhat lengthy, but rest assured, you’ll encounter a house en route. It might be marked on your map already. Once you arrive at the location, have a chat with Zlata. She will inform you that Vostatek has gone missing.

Agree to lend a hand to her and subsequently discuss matters with her son. Without your assistance, locating Vostatek would be an arduous task given the vast search area. Upon conversing with him, he might initially turn down your request for aid. Yet, you have a chance to succeed in a test of skill that could yield valuable information from him.

Choose a persuasion skill check. Now that you have the information, it is time to find Vostatek.

As a fan, I’d recommend leveraging your Charisma when persuasive skills fall short, for a more enchanting approach!

How To Find And Help Vostatek

From Vidlak Pond, take the west exit and afterward, stick to the trail on your right-hand side. Continue along this path, and eventually, you’ll hear Vostatek calling for aid as he is being threatened by wolves. Overcome those wolves first, and then Vostatek will descend from his location.

If you leave the area without rescuing Vostatek from the wolves, the quest will fail.

Given that he has injured his ankle, your task now is to assist him by transporting him to his hidden campsite. Initially, he might provide strange instructions, but don’t fret—you’ll soon receive guidance on where to proceed. Stick to the river’s northern bank, and as you pass the markers left by Vostatek, your objectives will automatically be updated.

In due course, you’ll arrive at his secret base. At that point, leave him there momentarily. Then, engage in conversation with him, and he might request some water. Luckily, a barrel is close by, so interact with it to fill the waterskin he provided for this purpose. After doing so, he may ask you to locate his horse named Pepik.

How To Find Pepik

Instead of refusing him, it may harm your standing and conclude the mission. Therefore, it’s more advisable to accede to his request and locate his horse. Ahead, you’ll encounter a bamboo you can engage with. After that, the task will update, so follow the trail and continue seeking clues. A prompt will appear whenever you are close to a clue.

At night, you could make off with the horse instead of engaging in conflict, but keep in mind that your final earnings would be reduced as a consequence.

As you examine each hint and proceed along the southeastern route, you’ll eventually come across a precipice. This is where the poacher’s camp is located. There are five adversaries there, so engaging them directly might prove challenging if you’re still in the early stages of the game.

A more subtle approach would be to engage them in a covert battle and execute silent takedowns to decrease their numbers. The most opportune moment for this is during the nighttime hours. But if you prefer not to confront them in such a manner, it’s advisable to entice an opponent into a solitary combat instead.

If you confront them directly, they may eventually yield. By succeeding in ability tests, you could disarm him of his weapon or even take all his possessions.

As a gamer, if you prefer to take them down during the cover of night, know that two of these foes will be catching some Z’s. Start by taking out the one guarding the main entrance, but tread carefully as another adversary roams this area. Once the sentry at the entrance is down, act swiftly and dispatch the patrolling enemy. Now, only one more active foe remains, so prepare for the final battle.

As I tread cautiously through this game world, I suspect those two who were dozing have probably woken up by now, but don’t worry about giving them a run for their money when it comes to a fight. Once you’ve successfully vanquished your foes, the fellow named Pepik should be smack dab in the heart of this camp. If he’s not there, then you can find him hanging out at the camp’s periphery. After you’ve mounted up on good ol’ Pepik, make your way back to Vostatek.

Get Your Reward From Vostatek

After returning with Pepik, engage in a chat with Vostatek and hop on his mount for a ride to his residence. Upon arrival at his house, you’ll initiate a discussion with his family. You have the opportunity to perform a skill check, but it isn’t mandatory; simply select the initial option, and the quest will be completed.

Now, you will receive rewards based on your choices.

  • You would get 80 Groschen if you killed all the enemies and brought back Pepik.
  • 45 Groschen, if you didn’t kill the enemies or the horse died.
  • 25 Groschen, if you brought back Vostatek home after saving him from the wolves.
