In their ongoing trials for the upcoming free-to-play skateboarding game titled “Skate”, publishers EA and developers Full Circle have initiated testing on in-game transactions, commonly known as microtransactions. As reported by Insider Gaming, players participating in the “Skate” playtests received a notification about an update that included microtransactions among its features for the next playtest update.
In the upcoming playtest for the game “Skate”, transactions will be similar to San Van Bucks, which can be purchased using real-world currency. These San Van Bucks can be used in a within-game shop to purchase cosmetic items. According to Full Circle, these microtransactions are being tested to make sure that the store functions smoothly now that “Skate” has been released.
In order for us to reach our objectives during the Early Access phase, we’ve activated the ability to buy and utilize an in-game currency (San Van Bucks) within our continuing Closed Alpha test. Your valuable input will significantly contribute to making the Early Access debut exceptional.
The message additionally alerts gamers that, given it’s a trial period, their character advancement may be wiped. In case of a wipe, players who have bought items using San Van Bucks will get their bucks back and can spend them again. During the Early Access launch, players can utilize the San Van Bucks they earned during trials as long as they use the same EA account.
Recently, Full Circle unveiled a video highlighting the progress made during their playtests. This video, incorporating gameplay from the February test session, underscores the fact that development is proceeding smoothly. The models and textures appear more polished in the latest test, and players have an expanded arsenal of tricks at their disposal. Some of the moves demonstrated in the video encompass flips, slides, and grips.
As a gamer, I was blown away by the sheer amount of character customization options showcased in the video. From the ordinary to the downright eccentric, each player character sported a distinct look. And let’s not forget about those tricked-out skateboards – it’s clear that there will be plenty of ways to personalize our ride too!
As of now, there’s no fixed release date for the game “Skate”. Nevertheless, it is planned to debut initially as an Early Access title in 2025. The main highlight of this game will be its multiplayer mode, with a strong focus on social interaction and customizing characters.
Until the full Early Access release arrives, enthusiastic gamers can register for playtesting sessions directly from the game’s official website. It’s worth noting that these playtests have been underway for quite a while now on PC platforms. Excitingly, the developers have announced that console users will soon have an opportunity to join in the fun as well.
Much of the customization has been explained earlier through a developer’s diary video. This includes modifying not only the characters’ attire but also altering their height, body structure, and various other aspects. In terms of clothing options, players will have the freedom to switch out tops, trousers, glasses, and even socks.
