Blake Lively proves resilience is always in the bag.
The actress disclosed a clever parenting tip (often referred to as a “mom hack”) that she employed for one of her four kids during a family outing at the Barton Springs Pool in Austin, Texas, with her husband Ryan Reynolds.
On March 11, a picture was shared showing Lively standing near what seems to be the Zilker Park Trailhead restrooms. She was wearing makeshift slippers made out of paper shopping bags.
She titled her Instagram post, “My child left their shoes at home, but I’m all set.” Naturally, she passed on her own pair. The mom trick? Check – paper bags, no shoes, no worries!
Full of energy, the woman who is partnered with Reynolds and has four children – James, aged 10, Inez, 8, Betty, 5, and Olin, 2 – journeyed to Austin to publicize her newest movie titled Another Simple Favor at the SXSW festival. She attended the red carpet premiere of the sequel alongside her costars like Anna Kendrick and director Paul Feig on March 7. In the past few days, she has posted several pictures from the event and her Austin trip on Instagram.
Experiencing the opening night of @asimplefavor at SXSW was electrifying, reminiscent of a rock concert! A huge thank you to the incredible audience in Texas – y’all truly know how to bring it! Making this movie has been an absolute joy, but sharing it with all of you and feeling the warmth and love in return is beyond words. Thank you for welcoming us, Austin!
In February, the “Gossip Girl” reappeared on Instagram, posting a movie poster following a hiatus from social media in December. This was about a week before she filed a lawsuit against her director and co-star from “It Ends With Us,” Justin Baldoni, for sexual harassment and retaliation. In January, he counter-sued her and her husband Ryan Reynolds, alleging extortion and defamation.
In a recent exchange, Lively and Baldoni are each alleging that the other has initiated character assassination attempts. However, both parties have refuted any involvement in such activities.

Back in February, I couldn’t contain my excitement as the Gossip Girl made a comeback on Instagram, gracing our feeds with a tantalizing poster for the upcoming movie. It had been a while since she disappeared from the social media scene in December, but boy, was it worth the wait! Just days before, she found herself embroiled in a legal battle with her It Ends With Us director and costar, Justin Baldoni, over allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation. In response, he counter-suited my hero, Ryan Reynolds, and me in January, claiming extortion and defamation. Talk about drama!
However, Blake’s recent “parenting trick” isn’t the sole instance where she has offered a peek into her parenting life. Delve further to uncover more insights from her and Ryan about their children.
In 2018, during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Ryan Reynolds playfully remarked that he’s watched Frozen with his daughters countless times, and a little-known fact is that if you watch it in reverse, it essentially recreates the scenes of The Exorcist.
On December 15, 2016, Reynolds and Lively presented their daughters James and Inez for the first time, at the actor’s Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony. This is a typical setting for private celebrities to introduce the world to their children. During his speech, Reynolds expressed his feelings towards his wife, saying “You make everything better – absolutely everything in my life. You’ve given us two of the most wonderful children that I could ever hope to have. You’ve transformed me into the father of my dreams when I thought I only had potential to be a fun uncle.
In August 2016, just prior to the arrival of their second daughter, Reynolds shared with TopMob News that “Having a baby is incredibly grounding. It’s an unparalleled joy and blessing for anyone.
In 2016, the new mother expressed to NW Magazine that although she experiences unpleasant moments like being soiled with waste and vomit, having a baby is truly wondrous. Despite the challenges and exhaustion, she often finds herself reflecting on her good fortune.
In 2015, during an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman, Reynolds expressed his deep affection for his family. He praised his marriage and his daughter, but emphasized who held the highest priority. He said, “I would risk my life for you. I could never love anything more than I love you.” This is something I would say to my wife. As soon as I looked into that baby’s eyes, I knew in an instant that if we were ever under threat, I would sacrifice myself and use my wife as a shield to protect that baby.
Following his characteristic dark wit, Reynolds playfully shared this parenting jest with his Twitter audience in 2016: “Being a father is the most incredible sensation on Earth. Except for that period when I didn’t have a child, naturally.
Reynolds expressed on NBC’s Today show in 2016, “I’m usually the one handling the tough tasks.” He added, “I don’t mind taking care of the difficult tasks. She does too, but I’m always ready to jump up in the middle of the night, I’m comfortable with that, you know, all those responsibilities.
Fatherhood, he said, has been “amazing.”
2016 saw Reynolds expressing that he had one of those unusual mornings when his daughter didn’t want him to leave because she was clinging to him. However, his wife was asleep at the time. It was as if he couldn’t bear to go, it felt like a wrench was being pulled from his heart.
In 2016, while we were watching the Super Bowl, Ryan Reynold’s daughter recognized him on TV. There must have been around a dozen of him, which to her was like seeing 24 unnecessary figures. Needless to say, she wasn’t impressed at all. She simply said, “Eh, whatever.
2016 saw me, Ryan, jokingly confessing to my Twitter audience about an emotional rollercoaster: “Gosh, it’s tough as nails handing over my baby girl for her first solo adventure – I was a complete wreck leaving her at Burning Man!
In 2015, the father expressed his pride by saying, “She’s wonderful! She’s wonderful!” before discussing whether their single child, James, had begun to talk. He shared that they were getting many sounds, but nothing resembling understandable English yet. Jokingly, he mentioned that he was teasing her a lot.
In 2015, on Instagram, Lively expressed that ever since our child was born, I’ve had a strong belief that you were probably the father, and added a message of her love: ‘#IAdoreYouSoMuchItFeelsSilly.’
2016 saw Blake Lively expressing that raising a child is like perpetually navigating the unforeseen, as one never knows when they’ll encounter messes or smiles that swiftly turn into tears. She humorously compared it to life with a drug addict, but in an instant of parental affection, she couldn’t fathom ever being without a child. If given the chance, she would be an elderly woman with an infant.
Lively stated in 2015, ‘It’s simply outstanding,’ referring to family. Despite our diverse professions, we all share the common bond as members of someone’s family. It’s quite heartwarming.
On Father’s Day in 2015, Reynolds shared that his daughter gave him a smile, which was more than enough of a present for him as he prepared to depart for six years to compose a book about parenthood.
In my line of work, there have been instances when I’ve found myself strolling along, only to realize much later that I’d been walking unaware for about five minutes. I shared this little anecdote with TopMob News during the promotion of my film, Woman in Gold, back in 2015.
You adore it deeply. Even in the dead of night, you find yourself awakened with a broad, goofy grin on your face. I mentioned this to someone else. Normally, anything causing interruptions every 45 minutes would be something you’d want to eliminate. However, when it comes to a baby, it’s the most wonderful thing that has ever graced your life.
One of the usual sequences in life often involves sharing a kiss, consuming alcohol, continuing with intimacy, and subsequently welcoming a child. However, in this case, I maintained complete sobriety. In 2016, Reynolds playfully commented, “I gotta say.
I find it fascinating, really astounding actually. It’s so ordinary, yet it holds such depth. And I can’t help but chuckle, you know, when celebrities discuss their children in a way that seems overly dramatic. ‘As if my child was the first one to ever be born,’ they might say.
In 2015, Reynolds expressed his feelings about James, who was then an only child, in the following way: “Many have done this before, so it’s important to add a touch of humility. Yet, I deeply admire him. It’s quite unfortunate. He has me completely charmed, and I would do foolish things just to be near him. He says ‘Dada’, and I would walk through a solid wall to reach him.
