Invincible Season 3 Finale: Fans Declare It The Best Episode Yet!

The television series ‘Amazon Prime’s Invincible’, featuring Steven Yeun as Mark Grayson, has faced a challenging journey much like its lead character. Debuting with great fanfare in 2021, it left viewers breathless, particularly with the climactic finale that served as a heart-wrenching revelation about Mark’s father, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons), being an evil alien conqueror from another world. However, the emotional resonance and powerful final scene of Season 1 lost momentum during ‘Invincible’ Season 2, which faced a near-fatal delay in its midseason release. Now in Season 3, there’s high expectation to recapture the captivating essence of the first season.

Here I am, absolutely thrilled to be diving into the Season 3 Finale of “Invincible”! It seems that fans of this phenomenal series are once again hailing it as the greatest of all time (GOAT), following an intense showdown that outshines even the climactic battle from the first season, making it appear almost juvenile in comparison.

In Episode 8 of Season 3 titled “I Thought You’d Never Shut Up” from the series “Invincible”, Mark finds himself recovering from his battle against Angstrom Levy and his group of Mark’s malevolent counterparts, referred to as the “Invincible War”. Just when he’s starting to get back on his feet, a new Viltrumite commander named Conquest (portrayed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan) arrives for a check-up on the preparations Earth is making for conquest. However, instead of offering guidance or discipline, Conquest prefers brutality and cruelty. As a result, violent confrontations erupt almost immediately, leading to increasing numbers of human casualties and damage to infrastructure.

In their global conflict, Mark and Conquest clash, drawing in Mark’s kin, such as his half-brother Oliver and partner Atom Eve (portrayed by Gillian Jacobs). A tragic turn occurs when both Oliver and Eve are severely wounded by Conquest. This triggers an explosive response from Mark, who mercilessly defeats the formidable elder Viltrumite, reducing him to a bloodied stub. As the story concludes, marking the end of the season, Mark vows a ruthless retaliation against any emerging threat to his family and companions. Meanwhile, it’s disclosed that Cecil and the Global Defense Agency are keeping Conquest alive for interrogation purposes, seeking information about the Viltrumite Empire.

Invincible Fans React to Season 3 Finale

Social media users are expressing a variety of opinions about Season 3 Episode 8 of Invincible, with some hailing it as the best episode in the entire series, while others, who are more dedicated fans, are taking their time to appreciate the fact that the storyline, voice actors, and animation quality will always meet expectations when required.

In addition, the captivating universe and tales of “Invincible” manage to keep viewers deeply engrossed. At present, there are numerous discussions revolving around characters, ranging from the surprising shift in Eve’s power levels following the Season 3 finale, to fans delving into the disturbed (yet also pitiful!) personality of Conquest – a sociopath even among Viltrumites. Moreover, John Michael McDonnell is now receiving recognition for his portrayal as Conquest, after many skeptics questioned his initial casting.

Fans of comic books are praising the side-by-side comparisons of original comic panels and animated depictions of the Conquest battle, as well as the overall acclaim for how the latest episodes have brought popular comic storylines to life.
