Teddi Mellencamp is holding nothing back.
As a devoted fan, I’m sharing my personal account following the heartfelt disclosure by a former star of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” She opened up about her prolonged hospital stay due to multiple brain tumors, and I felt compelled to discuss the events that unfolded post her emergency surgery in February.
On the March 13th episode of their podcast, “Two Ts In A Pod,” she expressed that she had been very unhappy during her hospital stay. She added that it was a tough 17 days not just for her, but for everyone connected to her life as well.
Besides having occasional lapses in her memory, Teddi mentioned that she’s been prescribed numerous medications, which come with severe side effects.
She clarified, “I was receiving an intravenous solution with high sodium content. They also prescribed me some bitter salt tablets which I vomited daily.
The 43-year-old went on to say, “On one occasion, I recall vomiting approximately 85 times due to those foolish salt tablets.
Additionally, Teddi mentioned that not only did she engage in other activities, but she also found herself with her hands restricted due to her frequent desire to feel the scars on the back of her head resulting from surgery.
“I didn’t take the hand restraints well,” she shared. “I would try to rip my hands out of them.”
In the end, Teddi was transferred to a hotel where she had a round-the-clock nurse. It was there she found out that physicians detected additional tumors in her head and lungs, even though they had previously extracted four from her brain.
“Once I understood,” she recalled, “I got really sad.”
Currently, Teddi is receiving immunotherapy and radiation treatment aimed at eliminating the remaining tumors. She shared that this treatment leaves her feeling extremely unwell.
“I have the worst headache,” she tearfully revealed. “I feel back to how I felt at the beginning.”
Despite being the daughter of John Mellencamp and Victoria Granucci, Teddi remains resilient. In her own words, a nurse recently told her that “enduring pain at this moment is significant, as it signifies that the cancer is actively targeting your body.
She added of her recovery journey, “I’m feeling really positive.”

In February 2025, the former star of Even Stevens disclosed that she had been accidentally shot in the face during a trip to celebrate her husband Brendan Rooney’s birthday by shooting clay pigeons.
She posted on Instagram that another person with us discharged a weapon unsafely and accidentally shot me in the face. @thebrendanrooney swiftly responded, evaluated my injuries, and rushed me to the hospital. I was hit in five spots, one of them was just shy of striking my right eye directly.
The former star of “Kim Possible” added, “Regrettably, a piece became stuck near my eye, and it’s not safe for surgery right now. However, doctors are keeping close tabs on me, and I can see fine as of now.
She expressed her heartfelt gratitude for being alive, adding that she holds a deep affection for her daughters, husband, family, and friends. Recounting a moment where she felt death was imminent, she emphasized the importance of cherishing those close to us, urging everyone to seize any opportunity to embrace loved ones tightly. She underlined how fragile life can be, capable of transforming in an instant.
Despite the internet often being unkind, Amy Schumer is grateful that on this occasion, it provided her with valuable insights. In an episode of Call Her Daddy from January 2025, she reminisced about the internet criticizing her after a series of interviews, to which she responded, “Calm down everyone.” However, medical professionals chimed in with their opinions in the comments, suggesting that something might be wrong due to her unusual appearance. Surprised by being trolled by doctors, Amy then realized that they might be correct when they mentioned Cushing syndrome, a condition she was unaware of. Upon reflection, she recalled receiving steroid injections for scars from past surgeries like breast reduction and C-section. These injections, she believed, had led to her developing Cushing syndrome, a condition she would not have known about without the internet’s intense scrutiny. Today, Amy is simply relieved to know that she is well. As she shared in her February 2024 News Not Noise newsletter, “Discovering that I have a type of Cushing that will resolve itself and that I am healthy was the best news possible.
Hailey Bieber faced a terrifying incident in March 2022 during a breakfast with husband Justin Bieber when she began experiencing symptoms similar to a stroke. As she struggled to respond, she couldn’t speak properly and her right side of the face drooped. After some time, she managed to get to a hospital where they discovered a small blood clot in her brain, known as a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA). Later, it was found that Hailey had a hole in her heart called patent foramen ovale (PFO), through which the blood clot had escaped and traveled to her brain. After undergoing a successful PFO closure procedure, she is now feeling well.
In the same year that Hailey Bieber encountered her health challenge, my partner, Justin Bieber, also faced one of his own. In June 2022, the “Baby” singer publicly shared that he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, a condition that temporarily paralyzed parts of his face and compelled him to postpone the rest of his Justice World Tour.
As he articulated in an Instagram video, this syndrome is caused by a virus that attacks the nerve in his ear and facial nerves, resulting in facial paralysis. At the time, he explained, “You can see that this eye isn’t blinking. I can’t smile on this side of my face. This nostril will not move. So, there’s full paralysis on this side of my face.” He further mentioned that it had become progressively difficult for him to eat, but eventually, the paralysis subsided.
On a June 2022 episode of Good Morning America, Hailey shared that Justin was recovering well and expressed gratitude that he was in good health. She stated, “He’s doing really well,” and later added, “He’s feeling a lot better. Obviously, it was just a very scary and random situation to happen, but he’s going to be totally OK.
Initially, Jamie Foxx chose to keep his April 2023 hospitalization a private matter. However, during his 2024 Netflix special titled “What Had Happened Was…”, he revealed the ordeal he experienced. One day in Atlanta, as he complained of a severe headache, he asked for an aspirin; before getting it, he fainted and lost consciousness for approximately 20 days.
Upon being examined by a doctor who administered a cortisone shot and sent him home, his sister Deidra Dixon became alarmed and drove him to a hospital. There, they discovered that Foxx had suffered a brain bleed leading to a stroke. After undergoing surgery 20 days later on May 4, he woke up in a wheelchair, unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy.
“I want to express my gratitude for every prayer,” he said, “because I truly needed them.
Actress Emilia Clarke experienced intense medical struggles after filming battle scenes for ‘Game of Thrones’. In 2019, she penned an essay titled “A Battle for My Life” in The New Yorker.
In her own words, at the gym one day, she was struck with a severe headache that led to vomiting profusely. The pain intensified and she suspected brain damage. Rushed to the hospital, a scan revealed a life-threatening stroke caused by bleeding in the area surrounding her brain – a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). She had suffered an aneurysm.
Undergoing immediate surgery to seal the aneurysm, she described the pain as unbearable. During recovery, she experienced aphasia and spoke nonsensically. A week later, her speech improved, and she was discharged from the hospital after a month.
However, in a 2013 brain scan, it was discovered that the growth had doubled in size, necessitating another surgery. Upon waking from this procedure, she recalled the pain was excruciating, and her survival chances were uncertain if they didn’t operate again. This time, the surgeons needed to access her brain through her skull.
Fortunately, Emilia is now reportedly fully recovered and in good health.
Snoop Dogg’s daughter, Cori Broadus, expresses her gratitude towards her family. This appreciation stems from their swift response when she experienced a severe stroke in January 2024. Upon receiving the news, they immediately rushed to support her.
“I texted them that I had just suffered a stroke and sent them a picture,” she shared with TopMob News correspondent Will Marfuggi in December 2024. “Everyone came to my aid.”
Due to additional health complications, Cori’s hospital stay extended beyond her initial expectations.
“I could have been discharged after the stroke,” the star of ‘Snoop’s Fatherhood: Cori and Wayne’s Story’ explained further. “However, my lupus wasn’t in a good state. My kidneys were failing. There was a lot happening simultaneously.”
Now, Cori is on the road to recovery.
“I’m doing well,” she updated. “I merely needed to regain some motor skills. Apart from that, I was fine.
In my own words as an ardent fan, I’d say:
Back in the tumultuous health phase of Shailene Woodley’s early twenties, life was anything but a walk in the park. It reached a point where I could barely hear, couldn’t stroll for more than five minutes without needing to rest for hours on end, and everything I ate seemed to upset my stomach. As she herself put it during an episode of the SHE MD Podcast in September 2024, “It was this complex mix of health problems, diagnoses, and conflicting advice from different doctors.”
Determined to uncover the truth, Shailene—who has a deep-rooted interest in holistic medicine and herbalism—embarked on a quest for answers. She decided to collaborate with both conventional medical professionals and independent healers, seeking solace within my own body. This journey was an arduous one that spanned a decade.
Throughout those long years, other challenges surfaced as a result of the physical discomfort. “Food became something I feared,” she recounted, “which led to mental struggles such as body dysmorphia, confusion about my identity, and feelings of insecurity within myself.”
However, Shailene’s perseverance paid off, and her health eventually improved significantly. “This journey ultimately resolved itself physically,” she shared, “and I am overjoyed to say that today I am in excellent health.” The Big Little Lies star concluded, “I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to proclaim that.
