Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster Sells Over 49,000 Physical Units in Japan at Launch

Last week saw the highly-anticipated release of Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars. As expected, this reimagined classic JRPG has made a strong entrance in the latest Japanese physical sales charts published by Famitsu. The remaster sold more than 49,000 units, with its Nintendo Switch version taking the second spot, and the PS5 version securing third place.

Speaking as a devoted gaming enthusiast, it’s clear that Monster Hunter Wilds has been reigning supreme this past week, with sales of over 101,000 physical copies in its second week alone. Moreover, a host of timeless Nintendo Switch titles have made their mark on the top 10 list, such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

In terms of hardware sales, the PlayStation 5 is currently dominating with approximately 52,000 units sold, despite a decrease in sales by half compared to the previous week due to the Monster Hunter boost. The Nintendo Switch trails behind with about 37,000 units sold.
