Once again, The Celebrity Baking Competition returns, welcoming a fresh group of well-known individuals into the renowned white tent, all vying for the title of Star Baker.
This year’s Stand Up to Cancer roster includes familiar figures such as comedians, TV show hosts, musicians, and radio personalities that television audiences will easily recognize.
This year’s celebrity version won’t only feature new faces among the stars, but also a change at the judging table as Caroline Waldegrave takes over for Prue Leith.
When asked if Waldegrave found it challenging to follow in the path laid by Leith, Paul Hollywood stated on Channel 4: “Indeed, but with Dame Mary Berry and Dame Prue Leith having paved the way, she’s already played her winning card from the start.
Regarding the elite perspective, she outshone the others, he quipped. However, instead of addressing her as ‘Lady’, she herself declined, saying, ‘Absolutely not! I don’t wish to be referred to as Lady!’

As a devoted cinephile preparing for my role in the baking competition, I’m not in it to win it in a major way, but I’d love to give it my all. My main goal is to perform at my best and execute my ideas to their fullest potential. It can be quite frustrating, though, when things don’t go according to plan.
Amelia Dimoldenberg

Amelia Dimoldenberg is a popular online figure and host, particularly recognized for devising the unique show “Chicken Shop Dates.” In this program, she chats with famous individuals over meals at fast food chicken joints, setting up decidedly uncomfortable dinner dates for them.
Ever since its debut in 2014, Dimoldenberg’s popularity has soared to new heights, landing her spots on Celebrity Come Dine with Me, Taskmaster, and even hosting the Oscars red carpet event.
“I’d love to be a star baker, but I really can’t see it happening,” said Amelia.
Chris Ramsey

Chris Ramsey initially gained notoriety as both a stand-up comic and television host, with his breakthrough role coming in 2016 when he hosted “I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp.
After that point, he took on hosting duties for The Chris Ramsey Show and participated in Strictly Come Dancing. Together with his wife Rosie, they jointly hosted The Chris & Rosie Ramsey Show on BBC Two and iPlayer.
Ramsey stated, ‘Cancer is a terrible disease that destroys and upsets countless families, and whatever actions we can take to collect funds for furthering treatments and combating cancer, we are committed to doing.’
Ellie Goldstein

For the past fifteen years, Ellie Goldstein has been a model, appearing in advertising campaigns for brands such as Nike, Vodafone, and Superdrug.
During the Photo Vogue Festival, both Gucci and Vogue Italia noticed Ellie. As a result, she became the inaugural model with a disability to be the face of the Gucci label.
“I’m competitive and I want to win,” said Ellie ahead of her Bake Off debut.
Gbemisola Ikumelo

Gloria Hunniford

Over on the airwaves, Hunniford hosted her own daily show on BBC Radio 2 for 11 years until 1995.
When inquired about her strengths or areas for improvement before entering the tent, Gloria replied: “My strong points are that I’m determined and enjoy a good challenge. However, when it comes to baking, I’m quite inexperienced. I attempted to practice at home, but my initial batch of biscuits turned out more like lumps than edible treats.
In my own words, allow me to share my take on this film: “My pièce de résistance, a creation I’ve perfected myself, truly shone. This masterpiece holds a special place in my heart, as it echoes the life of my father – a man who was a journalist by day and an enchanter by night.
Jamali Maddix

Jamali Maddix, recognized by many for his frequent appearances as a panelist on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, is a talented stand-up comedian.
Inquired about his eagerness to secure the series victory, Jamali responded: “Not particularly. I’m indifferent towards it. It’s for charity, and that changes things. If I were truly a professional baker, my feelings might be different. However, I’m not aiming to switch careers to baking, so I don’t feel competitive in the realm of baking.
Jim Howick

Jim Howick is a well-known comedian, often recognized for his appearances in Horrible Histories and Ghosts, both of which he contributed to as a writer and actor.
His other TV appearances include Sex Education, Peep Show and Inside No. 9.

He expressed a newfound admiration for bakers, stating that baking is not just about artistry but also precise science. It’s like combining chemistry and craftsmanship. Kate Garraway

Maxine Peake

Wang mentioned, “To be honest, I’ve never been much into baking; it’s just not my preferred way of cooking. Instead, I lean more towards stir-fry dishes. You know, where I chop up ingredients and quickly cook them in a wok. Baking requires a level of discipline and patience that I don’t think I possess.
Rebecca Lucy Taylor

Rebecca Lucy Taylor, better known by her stage name Self Esteem, is a musician and actress.

The following year, Taylor starred in Cabaret as Sally Bowles.

In 2022, Douglas appeared on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and came in 10th place.
Scarlette shared that she finds pleasure in consuming food more than in preparing it. Despite her ability to cook, having Jamaican parents who passed down traditional recipes, she often chooses to visit her mother’s house for meals instead, as her mother enjoys cooking and lives nearby.
