This article contains small spoilers for the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 main quest, Into the Underworld.

Summary

  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s Into the Underworld quest has a game-breaking bug affecting progression.
  • The bug will be fixed by Warhorse Studios during the week beginning March 17.
  • To work around the bug, players are advised to load a save before getting the quest or play sidequests in the meantime.

The Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 main quest Into the Underworld currently has a game-breaking glitch, but Warhorse Studios has confirmed a fix will be soon on the way. While this Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 bug is only affecting a small number of players, it would be understandably frustrating to have to put the game down until the issue is resolved.

Although Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 launched to excellent reviews back in February, it still suffers from the same thing as any game with this kind of scale and ambition. There are plenty of glitches that have slipped through the cracks. Warhorse Studios recently released the massive 1.2 update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, which came with an enormous number of bug fixes. However, one game-breaking issue is still causing problems for players.

Responding to a fan post on X, Warhorse Studios’ Global PR Manager Tobias Stolz-Zwilling confirmed that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2‘s Into the Underworld quest has a game-breaking bug that stops players from being able to progress. One of the objectives is to find the character named Goatskin, but many players have reported that the NPC isn’t appearing. As this is a main quest, this stops players from moving the storyline forward altogether. Stolz-Zwilling confirmed that the bug will be fixed during the week beginning March 17, so hopefully, it will be resolved for players at some point over the next few days.

In the meantime, Stolz-Zwilling suggested that players “Just play sidequests meanwhile.” He also pointed out a workaround, imploring players to load to a save before they got to that quest. However, for some players who have started the quest and done Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 sidequests in the meantime, this could result in a lot of lost progress to solve the bug. For these gamers, waiting for the fix to be released is the best course of action.

Aside from bug fixes, there’s more content on the way to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 soon, too. Three paid DLCs have been confirmed for 2025 by Warhorse Studios, although exact dates are not yet set in stone. There’s also Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2‘s free Hardcore mode, which is set to bring tons of replayability to the game by making it much more challenging for players. It could be the perfect way to experience a repeat playthrough of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
