A new foursome is about to make waves on TLC.
The new reality show, titled PolyFamily, offers a sneak peek into its latest series, focusing on the unique living arrangement of four individuals: Alysia and Tyler, who are married, along with Sean and Taya. These four have decided to live together in a closed quad relationship.
In the March 17 trailer, Sean clarifies that a closed quartet refers to four individuals, such as ourselves. We engage in romantic relationships exclusively among this group, and also choose to marry within our circle, without involving anyone from outside it.
Plus, Sean’s girlfriend Alysia notes, “We never set out to live our lives like this, but we realized we could love more than one person and make our own rules as to what we want our family to look like.”
And, yes, the foursome lives together and share a growing family.
“Tyler and I had two children before we met Sean and Taya,” Alysia explains in the preview. “Since we’ve been together, we had two more children and we have one more on the way. We feel very fortunate to give the kids double the love.”
Yet, the complexity in Taya’s family dynamics has grown further with her pregnancy of their fifth child. She clarified that, since the male members rotate sleeping quarters on a daily basis, it remains uncertain as to who the fathers of their younger sons are.
However, a DNA test might potentially shatter the bond of their shared affection, as Tyler expresses, “Naturally, questions arise from time to time, but discovering the truth may inflict a great deal of pain.
Cracks in the polyamorous foursome start to show when tensions arise between the two men.
Sean acknowledges that both he and Tyler share a living arrangement, business partnerships, and co-parenting responsibilities. However, he states that if they were not in their current circumstances, they likely would not have developed a friendship.
Meanwhile, Alysia has growing insecurities when it comes to sharing her husband with another woman.
She confides in a private moment that, when it comes to Taya and Tyler, it seems their love appears stronger than his, and she finds herself feeling envious of their relationship.
The trailer concludes with Taya’s surprising revelation: “There’s something I need to tell you. I sense there’s a bond with another person.
Catch a glimpse of the upcoming drama in the video trailer. The series “PolyFamily” will debut on Tuesday, March 29, airing at 10 p.m. on TLC.
