Kris Marshall Wants All 5 Death in Paradise Lead Detectives to Meet on Screen

The final Friday of this month is set to be a big one for fans of Death in Paradise. Not only is the 14th season of the show coming to an end, but the third season of spin-off Beyond Paradise is also started to air.

Kris Marshall is still playing the role of Humphrey Goodman in that series, which he took on during its four-season run on Death in Paradise. To date, five different lead detectives have graced the show, with Ben Miller, Marshall, Ardal O’Hanlon, Ralf Little, and current star Don Gilet being among them.

In my recent interview with TopMob magazine, I was asked if a group chat among the five of us existed. Let me explain…

During an interview with TopMob magazine, they inquired whether there was a group chat amongst the five of us.)

“There’s no WhatsApp group,” he revealed. “But I would love some kind of reunion where all five of us meet up on screen.”

Marshall’s Humphrey is already the detective star to have met the most of the others. He met Miller’s Richard Poole (admittedly as a dead body) in Death in Paradise season 3, met Ardal O’Hanlon’s Jack Mooney in season 6 and briefly bumped into Ralf Little’s Neville Parker on a trip to Saint Marie in the first season of Beyond Paradise.

It might be challenging to implement Marshall’s strategy due to the character death of Richard Poole (played by Miller) in Death in Paradise during its third season.

Miller has previously reappeared, playing a fictional version of his character in Camille’s (Sara Martins) mind – so there’s always a chance he could return again.

The fictional universe created by “Death in Paradise,” which is also referred to as the ‘Paraverse’, now includes three different shows – Death in Paradise, Beyond Paradise, and Return to Paradise, featuring Anna Samson in the Australian spin-off.

In Season 3 of “Beyond Paradise,” we see the main cast members like Sally Bretton, Zahra Ahmadi, Dylan Llewellyn, Felicity Montagu, and Barbara Flynn reprise their roles.

Meanwhile, a host of guest stars have been confirmed for the new episodes, including Hugh Dennis, Kevin McNally and Caroline Quentin.

Starting this coming Friday, 28th March, Beyond Paradise season 3 airs on BBC One at 8 PM. You can catch seasons 1 and 2 on BBC iPlayer. Meanwhile, Death in Paradise wraps up its 14th season on the same day, 28th March, at 9 PM on BBC One. All previous episodes are available on BBC iPlayer as well.
