Team Vitality Claims ESL Pro League Season 21 Title with Dominant 3-0 Grand Final Victory Over MOUZ

After nearly three weeks of top-tier Counter-Strike action, Team Vitality has emerged victorious at ESL Pro League (EPL) Season 21, sweeping MOUZ 3-0 in a high-stakes Grand Final showdown. The win not only nets Vitality a major share of the tournament’s $1,000,000 prize pool, but also solidifies their position as one of the dominant forces in the current CS2 competitive landscape. This victory marks Vitality’s second straight ESL Pro Tour (EPT) championship following their recent success at IEM Katowice, pushing them another step closer in the ongoing Intel Grand Slam V race.

Record-Breaking Viewership Highlights EPL 21

EPL Season 21 proved to be one of the most-watched events in the league’s history. The Group Stage peaked at over 550,000 viewers, while the tournament’s overall peak viewership topped 571,000, showcasing the continued global appeal of elite-level Counter-Strike and the strength of the ESL Pro Tour ecosystem.

Stage 1: Surprises and Standout Performances

The tournament began on March 1 with 16 qualified teams battling it out in a Swiss System format for a coveted spot in Stage 2. GamerLegion and SAW turned heads early, breezing through their matches with perfect 3-0 records. Not far behind, Eternal Fire, 3DMAX, and MIBR secured advancement with 3-1 finishes, while FURIA, TYLOO, and paIN clawed their way through the lower bracket to claim the final spots.

In this phase of the tournament, my team, TYLOO, was the underdog. We faced some tough challenges along the way, but we didn’t back down. We took on Eternal Fire and 3DMAX, two of the strongest teams in the competition, and surprisingly came out on top! It was a fierce battle, but we proved that we could stand our ground against the toughest opponents.

Stage 2: Heavyweights Enter the Fray

From March 7-11, the competition intensified as Stage 1’s eight qualifiers joined eight directly invited teams. Team Vitality and Team Spirit were nearly untouchable, both advancing to the Playoffs with flawless 3-0 records. Meanwhile, NAVI, The MongolZ, and MOUZ battled to secure hard-fought 3-2 victories, earning their places in the next round.

In the lower bracket, Eternal Fire, G2 Esports, and Team Liquid kept their championship dreams alive, securing the final Playoff spots with clutch performances under pressure.

Playoffs: Elite Teams Clash

Over the span of March 13th to 16th, the Playoffs were filled with closely fought games. Team Spirit knocked out Eternal Fire, while MOUZ narrowly beat G2 in a tense set of matches. At the same time, Team Vitality demolished Team Liquid in a 2-0 game, showing great confidence. Additionally, The MongolZ made a strong statement by sweeping NAVI and becoming the first Asian team to advance to the EPL Semifinals.

In the semifinals, Vitality and MOUZ maintained their winning streaks. Vitality overcame The MongolZ, while MOUZ defeated Team Spirit to set up a repeat of the EPL Season 19 grand final – a rematch between the two teams. This means that Vitality and MOUZ will face off again in the championship game.

Grand Final: Vitality’s Revenge

The stakes couldn’t have been higher as MOUZ and Team Vitality met again in the EPL Grand Final. With Vitality seeking revenge and MOUZ aiming to reclaim the EPL crown, the match promised fireworks.

However, from the opening map, it was clear Vitality came prepared. They dominated every aspect of the series, showcasing exceptional coordination, firepower, and strategy. MOUZ, despite their valiant effort, couldn’t match Vitality’s relentless pace and fell 0-3 in the final scoreline.

This win marks Vitality’s first EPL title since Season 16, when they defeated Team Liquid. The team’s in-game leader, Dan “apEX” Madesclaire, emphasized their focus on the Intel Grand Slam, stating:

“Now we can talk Grand Slam because we have five chances to get it… We’re going to work hard because this team deserves everything we have right now.”

What’s Next?

The ESL Pro Tour action resumes with IEM Melbourne, scheduled for April 21-25, where the world’s top 16 teams will clash for another prestigious title. As Team Vitality continues their red-hot streak, all eyes will be on them to see if they can maintain their momentum and close in on Grand Slam glory.
