Jonathan Majors knows a good thing when he sees one.

It’s been reported that an actor from ‘Lovecraft Country’ recently tied the knot with Meagan Good, following almost two years of dating. This is the first marriage for Jonathan, aged 35, and marks the second time down the aisle for Meagan, 43. Previously, she was married to DeVon Franklin from 2012 until 2022.

TopMob News has reached out to reps for Jonathan and Meagan for comment but has not heard back.

In October 2022, these newly-formed couples crossed paths for the first time at the Ebony Power 100 Gala. Their relationship blossomed in May 2023. Exactly one year later, they opted to reveal their engagement at the same event where it all began, thus completing a romantic cycle.

Meagan told TopMob News at the gala, “We crossed paths at the EBONY Power 100 event, specifically in the shared restrooms.

Ever since making their relationship public, Meagan hasn’t held back on expressing the significant influence Jonathan has had on her life. Previously, she referred to their love tale as “an incredible journey that I hold dear.

In an interview with Ebony in January, the star from Harlem expressed that this relationship has shown him about boundless affection. He explained that it signifies understanding what it is to be cherished for your true self and loving someone who helps bring out your finest qualities.

Similarly, Jonathan has also shown appreciation for Meagan, whom he began dating during a period of legal troubles. Two months prior to revealing their relationship, he was detained in New York City under accusations of assaulting his former girlfriend Grace Jabbari, yet he consistently asserted his innocence.

Initially, he was convicted of misdemeanor assault and harassment and received a sentence of 52 weeks of in-person counseling and a $250 fine, as reported by NBC News. However, he expressed gratitude towards Meagan for being one of those who supported him following the verdict.

In an interview with “Good Morning America” in January 2024, he expressed his gratitude, saying, “I feel incredibly fortunate. I have a wonderful support system of people who care deeply for me. However, this journey has been extremely tough, challenging, and complex in many aspects. But through it all, I’m managing to stay on my feet.

Approximately three months following their divorce, Meagan Good attended the 2022 EBONY Power 100 gala where she crossed paths with her future fiancé, Jonathan Majors. As she shared with TopMob News’ Francesca Amiker at a later event, it was in the bathroom at that gathering where they first connected. While Good initially wasn’t ready to start dating again, there was an undeniable spark between them. They reconnected approximately four months later, and she felt certain their relationship was meant to be, which proved to be true.

It wasn’t until May 2023 that word got out about them dating, but just two months prior to this, there were reports of Majors’ arrest in New York on charges related to a domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. However, he denied the accusations of harassment and assault, maintaining his innocence through his lawyer in March 2023.

In June 2023, Majors attended a court appearance, with an August trial scheduled subsequently. Good remained by his side, intertwining their hands as they exited the proceedings.

Throughout the trial, which was initially set for August 2023 but got rescheduled to November of the same year, the former star of “Cousin Skeeter” stood by the actor from “Lovecraft Country”. Majors pleaded not guilty to his accusations.

As reported by Associated Press, Jabbari was taken into custody in October 2023 on charges of assault and criminal mischief following Majors’ claims that she had assaulted him. However, these charges were dropped the next day. Doug Cohen, a spokesperson for the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, informed the outlet that the office “decided not to pursue this case against Grace Jabbari as it lacks substantial evidence”.

Jabbari’s lawyer, Ross Kramer, told Associated Press that the DA’s office had thoroughly examined all facts of the case and concluded that Jabbari was actually the victim instead of the perpetrator. Kramer added that the arrest was unfortunate and re-traumatizing.

On the other hand, Majors’ attorney, Dustin Pusch, expressed his dissatisfaction to NBC News stating that it is unjust for the District Attorney to persist with its case against him.

By December 2023, Majors had been convicted on charges of Assault in the Third Degree and Harassment in the Second Degree. However, he was acquitted for another charge of Assault in the Third Degree as well as a charge of Aggravated Harassment.

In a January 2024 interview with ABC News, the actor from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania who was dismissed by Marvel following his trial expressed astonishment and fear. “I couldn’t believe it when the verdict was read,” he said. “With all the evidence presented, I asked myself, ‘How could this be possible?'”

Majors also maintained his innocence, stating, “I have never struck a woman in my life.”

In response to his statements, Brittany Henderson, the attorney for the victim, told ABC News, “The timing of these new statements shows a lack of remorse for the actions for which he was convicted and should make sentencing decisions straightforward for the court.”

Regarding his relationship with Good, Majors called her an “angel” for her support. “I’m incredibly fortunate to have her,” he told the outlet. “Our relationship is still new, but I believe I’ve found her. I hope she stays by my side.

In March 2024, the pair first appeared together on the red carpet at the African American Film Critics Association Special Achievement Awards luncheon in Los Angeles. Later that month, during an interview with TopMob News at the NAACP Awards, Good publicly acknowledged Majors as his partner and confirmed their romantic relationship.

TopMob further reported that Majors expressed his admiration for Good’s support, stating, “She holds me down. I hold her down.” However, in March 2024, Jabbari filed a lawsuit against Majors, accusing him of defamation, malicious prosecution, assault, and battery, alleging that he had abused her at various points during their relationship.

In November 2024, Jabbari dropped the lawsuit, with court documents obtained by NBC News indicating that all claims against Majors were dismissed permanently.

About three months following his court trial and conviction, Majors received a sentence that included a 52-week counseling program and a fine of $250. Once more, Good demonstrated her backing for him as they walked towards the courthouse together.

At the Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards, while receiving the Perseverance Award, Majors expressed heartfelt emotions as he repeatedly emphasized the significance of Good in his life. In a video shared by Chris Gardner of The Hollywood Reporter, Majors declared, “I love you beyond measure, with every ounce of my strength, with every beat of my heart.” Furthermore, Majors reminisced about how the character from Harlem supported him through countless nights.

The love we’ve shared, the mutual support, the heartfelt conversations, the respect, and the thoughtfulness,” I said during a July 2024 episode of Today, “have truly been a remarkable journey.”

And although every friend advised me to hold off until Majors’ court case was resolved before starting our relationship, I chose to listen to my heart instead.

What I’m certain about is that when I trust myself, trust in God, seek guidance from Him, and follow my own path, I can always look at myself in the mirror and feel proud. No matter what life brings, I have inner tranquility and harmony within me.”

Good mentioned that she values her loved ones’ opinions, but ultimately, “it’s up to me to live my life, and it’s me who will one day need to answer to God for the choices I make.” She emphasized that she wants to take responsibility for her decisions and lead the life she desires.

Two years following their initial encounter, Good unveiled her engagement to Majors at the 2024 Ebony Power 100 gala by showcasing her ring for the first time.
