Daredevil: Born Again Reveals Muse’s Identity! Is It… Hunter Doohan?

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Daredevil: Born Again episode 4.

At the midpoint of Daredevil’s comeback season 1, episode 4 introduces two significant characters: Jon Bernthal portrays Frank Castle, also known as The Punisher, and a cryptic figure named Muse makes an appearance.

In the episode, Muse didn’t show up much, but the new antagonist certainly left an impressive and ominous mark on their debut.

Additionally, there seems to be some intrigue regarding the identity of the comic book antagonist, yet fans believe they may have figured it out.

Here’s everything you need to know about Muse!

Who is Muse in Daredevil: Born Again?

Muse is a notorious character from the Marvel universe, an artist who commits multiple homicides, inflicts pain, and carries out heinous acts in the streets of New York City, all in the name of creating his unique form of street art.

In Episode 4 of Daredevil: Born Again, we caught our first sight of Muse and the chilling plans he has underway. He was spotted moving towards a train track with an unassuming man in tow, and subsequently, it appeared that he was drawing blood from this individual – possibly for the creation of one of his gruesome masterpieces.

Initially introduced in Daredevil volume 5, issue 11 (published in 2016), Muse is a character conceived by Charles Soule and Ron Garney. Notably, the depiction of this character appears to have remained quite loyal to its original form, with his distinct white mask that symbolizes bleeding eyes.

In the world of comics, tracking down Muse is no easy feat, not even for Daredevil. What sets him apart is his astonishingly fast movements, making him a formidable and fearsome adversary.

Who plays Muse in Daredevil: Born Again?

While the casting hasn’t been formally announced yet, there are strong rumors suggesting that the role of Muse might be taken by Hunter Doohan, who is known for his work on Wednesday.

Notably, Doohan is listed in the credits for episode 4, and given that he doesn’t seem to appear in any other roles, we infer that he might be the person wearing the mask.

What other roles is Hunter Doohan known for?

In simpler terms, Doohan is recognized primarily for his portrayal of Tyler Galpin in the series ‘Wednesday’. He’s expected to reprise this role for season 2. A sneak peek of the upcoming episodes shows him imprisoned following the events of season 1, and it seems like Jenna Ortega’s character, Wednesday Addams, might help him escape from jail. (We won’t reveal any spoilers here!)

In the past, Doohan has also appeared in series including Westworld, What/If, and Your Honour.
