Kadiff Kirwan is exchanging his grungy Slough House from Slow Horses for the world of Doctor Who, as he’s now part of the cast in season 15 of the series.
Although little is known about Kirwan’s personality, the BBC has disclosed a meeting between him, the Doctor played by Ncuti Gatwa, and new companion Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu) for an “interstellar adventure” – and since this is Doctor Who, that could mean just about anything!
Over time, Kirwan has graced several critically-acclaimed TV series, starting with roles in Michaela Coel’s Chewing Gum and the BBC Three comedy Crims. Later, they became a regular face in Black Mirror, Fleabag, I May Destroy You, and This Is Going to Hurt.
Kirwan expressed great joy about becoming part of the esteemed lineup of actors who’ve made guest appearances on Doctor Who.
Russell T Davies and writer Juno Dawson have really pulled out all the stops with this episode, creating a mind-blowing, cosmic spectacle that’s simply incredible. It’s overflowing with feats of skill defying gravity and our wildest imaginations. Being involved in it is truly a dream come true for me. Buckle up, Doctor Who fans! This ride is going to take you on an unforgettable journey!

Russell T Davies expressed: “It’s fantastic to be in Cardiff where we can welcome top-notch talent. Working with Kadiff has been an absolute blast! I’ve admired his TV and stage work for quite some time now, so when we discovered he was interested and ready to join us, it made for a fantastic day at the office!
In about a month’s time, the beloved character Doctor Who will be back on our screens, accompanied by several new cast members as we delve into season 2 together.
Among these are Alan Cumming, Rose Ayling-Ellis, Charlie Condou, and Christopher Chung from Kirwan’s Slow Horses, who shares screen time with the Doctor in a particularly significant encounter, as suggested by Davies.
