After a prolonged period, we’ve finally got the System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster from Nightdive Studios, an upgraded version of System Shock 2. The good news is that fans won’t have to endure the wait much longer as this engaging immersive sim/action RPG is set for release on June 26th.
During the Future Games Show Spring Showcase, the newly unveiled trailer showcased a comparison between the original and updated versions. The character designs, weaponry, and movements have seen significant enhancements, whereas certain environments appear significantly livelier and more vibrant compared to their previous counterparts.
Regarding further upgrades, the “System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster” on PC allows for a maximum of 144 frames per second, caters to Ultrawide displays, offers additional support for mods and Achievements, among other things. Notably, you’ll find enhancements in the controller support as well as various quality-of-life improvements across the game, including an improved UI that boasts a more visually appealing design.
The remastered version of System Shock 2, celebrating its 25th anniversary, is set to release on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Keep an eye out for further updates and gameplay previews in the upcoming months.
