At last, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is here, and on its release day, gamers have flocked from all corners to back it. Just one day after launching, Ubisoft has shared that over a million players have embarked on Naoe and Yasuke’s journey through feudal Japan.
I must say, it’s quite astonishing to see such a massive gathering; it seems like those mischievous folks attempting to stir up drama might have done just the opposite. Inadvertently, they’ve managed to help Ubisoft escape from a tricky situation. Interestingly, we can gather even more insights by listening to gamers on Steam. GamesRadar+ has been diligently analyzing the data (which has nearly doubled since their initial report).
On a weekday, Shadows boasted more than 44,000 simultaneous players, surpassing Valhalla’s record of 15,431 and coming very close to beating the beloved Origins with its 41,541 player count, both being top-selling entries in the series.
Only Odyssey, with its player count of 61,984, is preventing Shadows from claiming the record for the series’ highest simultaneous player count. It seems that Kassandra and Alexios should prepare themselves for a brutal kanobo attack this weekend. By the way, it’s currently earning a highly favorable review from more than 3000 players. Could it be that potential saboteurs are hesitant due to the possible retaliation from Ubisoft against any unjustified review-bombing campaigns?
