Beyblade Announces New World Championship on Beyblade Day

These days, anime is growing so rapidly that numerous series are being given their own special days to share upcoming news with fans. Shows like “One Piece,” “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure,” and “Dragon Ball” have all had dedicated days to set the stage for what’s next in store. Today, the “Beyblade” franchise is following suit by announcing a new tournament, where players will be gearing up to engage in combat once more, readying their tops for battle.

In a formal announcement, Beyblade has declared that a new global championship is being planned to mark Beyblade Day. “This year, Beyblade enthusiasts have the chance to become the BEYBLADE world champion! The BEYBLADE X World Championship 2025 is an international event where winners from regional tournaments worldwide compete for the top spot. There will be two categories: Regular Class (generally for children aged eight to twelve, although some regions might allow participants as young as six) and Open Class (for those thirteen and older; however, in Japan and certain parts of Asia, the minimum age is seven). The tournaments culminate in a two-day battle at the Tokyo Tower on October 11 and 12, 2025. Regions taking part include the United States, Canada, France, Taiwan, Brazil, and others. Beyblade in The Olympics?

As autumn approaches, Tokyo is set to host a brand-new Beyblade world tournament. The franchise, however, isn’t stopping there – they’re eager to extend their gaming realm beyond this point. Last year, Beyblade Executives hinted at their ambition to join global sporting events. Designer Kenji Horikoshi expressed, “Initially, Beyblade was designed primarily for children’s amusement. But as it evolved, more adults discovered the thrill of competing in Beyblade. So, it transitioned into a more competitive atmosphere.

Horikoshi mentioned that while Beyblade may not become part of the Olympics, the brand is not disappearing. Instead, they are committed to ongoing innovation, hoping to provide an opportunity for people worldwide to enjoy and compete with one another, even if it’s not an Olympic sport.
