Flight Simulator 2025: The Shocking Truth Behind This AI-Generated Scam!

Upon discovering “Flight Simulator 2025” listed on the PlayStation Store, my first assumption was that this indicated an upcoming port for the game to the PS5, possibly as a cross-platform release with the Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2024. However, upon closer examination, it appears I had made an error in this assumption.

Indeed, although the title “Flight Simulator 2025” may conjure up thoughts of Microsoft’s Flight Simulator 2024, it is in reality an unrelated game published by Grizzly Games Limited. Notably, its PlayStation Store page features an image that appears to be AI-generated (multiple AI image detectors I tested agreed on this), leading me to delve a bit into the studio’s background.

As a tech enthusiast, I recently stumbled upon the company’s website (thanks for the link, Eurogamer) showcasing 16 mobile-style games allegedly developed by them. However, upon closer inspection, the box arts seem to be AI-generated, and surprisingly, none of the Google Play Store links provided lead to actual store listings. Unfortunately, it appears that these games are no longer available for download. From the brief gameplay clips I managed to find on YouTube, they seem like typical shovelware releases – nothing extraordinary or groundbreaking.

Avoiding Grizzly Games Limited’s Flight Simulator is advisable due to a troubling issue: The company has allegedly misused the name and logo of indie studio GrizzlyGames, famous for its serene 2017 game Superflight and last year’s hit tower defense title Thronefall. Eurogamer contacted the original team about this matter, and they swiftly confirmed that the actions of Grizzly Games Limited potentially infringe on their intellectual property rights.

In his response to Eurogamer, Paul Schnepf from GrizzlyGames expressed gratitude for the contact and brought attention to the topic at hand. He clarified that their company is not affiliated with Grizzly Games Ltd., and they are using our name and logo unlawfully.

It’s worth mentioning that the upcoming Flight Simulator 2025 might share some connection with the recently launched PSVR2 version of Flight Simulator 2025 VR game. Unfortunately, this game has received significant criticism from players, and a quick look at its gameplay will make it clear why. Interestingly, the cover art for this game is quite obviously generated by AI, and it’s published by a company called “404 Games Ltd.

As an analyst, I must clarify that 404 Games Ltd., despite sharing a name resemblance with the well-known Italian publisher 505 Games, is not the same entity. It seems possible that they may have intended for some confusion, given their similar names. A perusal of their website unveils a collection of games, many of which have received poor reviews and incorporate AI imagery. However, all of these games remain available for purchase.

Regardless if the two games are linked or not, I would still advise against playing Flight Simulator 2025. If it does indeed get released and offers genuine gameplay, be wary: any game from a company caught using another developer’s name and logo is highly suspect of being a fraud. To make matters worse, Grizzly Games Limited’s questionable past in publishing doesn’t exactly improve its reputation either.

It’s undeniably disheartening for PS5 enthusiasts who anticipated that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 would be released on their console. However, there’s a glimmer of optimism, as it might eventually arrive. Noteworthy is the fact that Microsoft previously ported four Xbox games to PlayStation, and we’re aware that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Forza Horizon 5, and the latest Age of Empires titles are also planned for Sony’s platform.

Absolutely, you can grab Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 right now on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC for $69.99, but it’s currently discounted to $51.99 at CDKeys. Another option is to play it on both platforms using Xbox Game Pass.
