15 long years have passed since the original “Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt” wrapped up, but the excitement is real as we’re gearing up for a brand-new season! The recent trailer has given us a sneak peek into its release date and introduced some fresh faces joining the franchise. I can hardly contain my enthusiasm – this is the first new anime in the series since way back then, and it’s been a dream come true ever since Studio Trigger secured the rights from Studio Gainax in 2022. The wait is finally over; the new season of this iconic series is officially on its way!

The animated series “New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt,” produced by Studio Trigger, offers a fresh perspective on the original 2010 series. Many of the original cast and crew have returned to work on this new season. In anticipation of the upcoming episodes, Kadokawa has released a teaser video showcasing two new characters set to make their debut. The full premiere is scheduled for later in July. Who Are Panty & Stocking’s New Characters?

The anime titled “New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt” is set to premiere sometime in July 2025, during Japan’s Summer anime season. However, a specific release date and details about international distribution are yet to be finalized at the time of this writing. In this latest sneak peek, two new angel brothers have been introduced – Polyester, voiced by Junya Enoki, and Polyurethane, voiced by Yuto Uemura. Joining them in the voice cast are Akeno Watanabe, replacing Ayumi Fujimura as Kneesocks, and Yuko Natsuyoshi, replacing Miki Makiguchi as Fastener.

Hiroyuki Imaishi is coming back for the upcoming Studio Trigger anime series, following his work on the original “Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt.” Hiromi Wakabayashi will also be returning to pen the scripts, while Atsushi Nishigori takes charge of character designs. Other members from the original team including Shigeto Koyama, Sushio, and Masaru Sakamoto will contribute to the new designs as well. The music for this series boasts a roster of popular artists like Taku Takahashi, Teddyloid, Yackle, Mitsunori Ikeda, Junji Chiba, and more.
