As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled about “FBC: Firebreak,” the exhilarating cooperative shooter that’s set to deliver post-launch content, just like many other games in the genre. What sets it apart, though, is the reassurance from Remedy Entertainment that there won’t be any FOMO (fear-of-missing-out) mechanics. Unlike some other titles, you won’t find Battle Passes or daily check-ins here. The gameplay trailer and subsequent previews have made this abundantly clear.
Xbox Wire mentioned that your friends will not get locked out because they choose not to purchase an expansion pack. Moreover, there won’t be any daily or time-limited events to prevent you from feeling compelled to participate. Essentially, the aim is to make it swift for you to begin playing and immediately jump into a mission.
In the sneak peek, Remedy reveals Job roles, Crisis Kits, and Altered Augments, but it appears there are many more options for tailoring your character, possibly over two dozen. Additionally, they plan to release a significant amount of content after launch, all of which will be made available at no cost.
This Summer, we’ll see the release of Firebreak, following up on events from Control. The Federal Bureau of Control’s crisis response team will be dealing with issues at The Oldest House. While the cost hasn’t been disclosed yet, Remedy has confirmed that it will fall within a mid-range price point for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC gamers.
