Fan theories have been swirling since Thanos debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, wondering who among the Avengers could potentially defeat such a formidable villain. One unconventional idea that has emerged involves Ant-Man’s unique abilities: could Scott Lang shrink down, enter Thanos through his digestive system, and then grow to giant size to essentially destroy him from within? This theory still leaves actor Paul Rudd questioning its feasibility. If you’re unfamiliar with this concept, you’re not alone – even Jenna Ortega, Rudd’s co-star in the upcoming movie “Death of a Unicorn,” hasn’t heard of it yet. “Death of a Unicorn” hits theaters on March 28th.
Ant-Man’s strategy to defeat Thanos in the movie is something that often crosses my mind. I mean, wasn’t he not possessing the Space Stone at that moment? That’s what I asked when discussing if this ‘Thanus’ plan could be used against Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday,” Rudd explained to ComicBook when they brought up the subject. When Ortega seemed puzzled, Rudd inquired, “Are you familiar with our discussion? The idea was that instead of confronting Thanos directly, Ant-Man could have just grown larger and climbed onto him.
Ortega wondered, “I assumed he was already large… the purplish guy?” To which Rudd replied, “Actually, I shrink instead,” prompting Ortega to recall, “Ah yes, you’re known as Ant-Man!
It seems more plausible that Ant-Man wouldn’t have to resort to such extreme tactics to defeat Doctor Doom compared to Thanos. This is suggested by Ortega’s lack of detailed knowledge about the MCU, as she may not recall all the specifics despite her previous minor role in the series.
Ortega reminisced about it being one of his earliest jobs, saying, “They removed every line I had, even my name,” to Entertainment Tonight.
Fans eagerly anticipate witnessing Scott Lang’s unique skills in action as he takes on Doom, and perhaps catch a glimpse of Ortega rejoining the series at some point. They can find both actors starring in their latest film produced by A24.
The story revolves around a father (Paul Rudd) and daughter (Jenna Ortega), who inadvertently end up killing a magical unicorn during their journey towards a weekend getaway. Their employer, a wealthy billionaire (Richard E. Grant), intends to exploit the unicorn’s extraordinary healing abilities once they arrive at their destination.
The film titled “Death of a Unicorn” was crafted by Alex Scharfman in both writing and direction, with starring roles from Will Poulter, Teá Leoni, and Richard E. Grant.
Keep an eye out for new developments regarding Ant-Man’s comeback within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Meanwhile, “The Death of a Unicorn” is set to debut in cinemas on March 28th.
