Lynda Carter Honored for Wonder Woman 50th Anniversary

The 2025 Paley Honors Spring Gala is set to honor Lynda Carter in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Wonder Woman. Known for her portrayal of the DC legend in the mid-’90s live-action series, Carter has come to symbolize the character so profoundly that all subsequent performances are measured against hers. With speculation running high about who will step into the role of Wonder Woman in James Gunn’s upcoming DC Universe production, Carter will finally receive the acknowledgement she deserves at the Paley Center for Media event, which begins on Monday, May 19th.

Maureen J. Reidy, President and CEO of The Paley Center for Media, stated that Lynda Carter’s memorable portrayal endures as an eternal embodiment of power, bravery, and self-empowerment. In both her on-screen and off-camera roles, Carter embodied the essence of Wonder Woman. While she showcased heroics under the spotlight, her tireless efforts extended to her personal life as well. As an advocate and philanthropist, Carter is involved with various organizations such as the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum, City of Hope/TGen’s blood cancer research, and the ERA Coalition, among others.

2025’s Paley Honors Spring Gala will not only be honoring actress Lynda Carter, but also billionaire and businessman Joe Tsai, media and sports entrepreneur Crystal McCrary, and the ABC News morning show “Good Morning America”, which is marking its 50th anniversary. Joe Tsai, owner of the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets and WNBA champions New York Liberty, is also co-founder and chairman of Alibaba Group.

According to Reidy, Joe Tsai is a globally recognized figure in various industries whose forward-thinking and inspiring leadership is shaping the future of business. On the other hand, Crystal McCrary is a multiple award-winning producer who is breaking new ground as a pioneer in media and sports.
