New PS5 Firmware Update Available from Today in Phased Launch

Today, Sony is unveiling a new PS5 software update, which will be released gradually across various regions. This means that when you get access to the update depends on your location. The latest update brings the system version to 25.02-11.00.00 and offers more than just enhanced stability. In fact, it includes several new features as well.

  • We’ve made it simpler to view details about activities.
    • Activity details are now fully displayed on cards.
    • Potential spoilers will still be hidden.
  • Unicode 16.0 emojis are now supported. You can use them in your messages.
  • When you set the parental controls’ restriction level to Late Teens or Older, Communication and User-Generated Content will now default to Restrict. If you have previously set the level to Late Teens or Older, your previous settings will not be affected and it will be shown as Customize.
  • We’ve improved system software performance and stability.
  • We’ve improved the messages and usability on some screens.

The Activity Cards on the system menu will now be completely viewable without any spoilers. Additionally, there have been changes in how emojis are used within the messaging app. Furthermore, parental controls have been adjusted to fine-tune access to communication and user-generated content suitable for Late Teens or older users. Lastly, as is customary with a PS5 firmware update, you’ll see an improvement in system performance and stability. After all, that’s just part of the package, isn’t it?
