For quite some time now, the gaming computers from Alienware’s Area-51 line have been a staple in the market, but there was a short hiatus. However, that all changed when Dell unveiled not one, not two, but three new additions to the series: the Alienware Area-51 gaming desktop, the Alienware 16 Area-51 gaming laptop, and the Alienware 18 Area-51 gaming laptop.
Just like the advanced hardware from Area-51 of olden times, today’s desktops and laptops come equipped with top-tier specifications capable of matching or even outperforming the highest-end pre-assembled gaming computers and premium gaming laptops on the market.
Previously, our very own Cale Hunt delved into the details of the newly introduced Alienware Area-51 PCs. Now, let me give you a brief rundown; however, what’s noteworthy is that these devices are now available for purchase via Dell.
Alienware Area 51 gaming desktop
As a devoted enthusiast, I appreciate that Dell prioritizes upgradeability with their Area-51 gaming desktop. It’s refreshing to see this approach since proprietary parts have often complicated upgrade processes in the past.
With its swift-opening side panels, the 80L Area-51 gaming desktop’s spacious interior is designed for hassle-free repairs and upgrades.
The motherboard within the Area-51 gaming PC adheres to the conventional ATX design, however, it features just two UDIMM memory slot openings.
Regarding computational capacity, the Area-51 gaming desktop outshines other pre-constructed computers, boasting NVIDIA’s latest generation RTX 5000 graphics cards and Intel’s top-tier Core Ultra Series 2 processors.
On Dell’s website, you can find various setups for the Alienware Area-51 gaming PC. It might come as a surprise that one of these configurations is currently offered at a reduced price.
The Area-51 gaming desktop, featuring an Intel Core i9-285K processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card, now comes with a $400 discount. This means the current price is reduced to $4,649.99.
That’s still a premium price, of course, but every bit of savings helps.
For those seeking top-tier performance, an RTX 5090 configuration is available for $5,499.99.
Alienware Area 51 gaming laptops

Starting this week, you’ll have the chance to get your hands on Area-51 laptops from Dell. They come in two sizes – a 16-inch and an 18-inch model – which you can order directly.
The latest models of our laptops boast smooth aluminum bodies, specifically designed to manage heat more efficiently. What’s more, they pack a punch with a combined power of up to 280W between the CPU and GPU, making them the current front-runners in terms of performance within their category.
The bottom of the new Area-51 laptops features a glass panel, allowing you to see the internals.
The newly introduced Area-51 laptops feature NVIDIA’s latest generation mobile graphics processors and can be equipped with Intel Core i9-275HX mobile central processing units.
