GSC Game World’s Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, despite some improvements, is not yet a flawlessly polished game. Ongoing updates have addressed some A-Life functionality and core problems, but there are still several lingering issues. In contrast, one modder is working on Stalker Infinity, a modification aiming to significantly enhance the survival gameplay experience by implementing numerous fixes and modifications for a more pleasurable gaming experience.
Stalker Infinity aims to fix Stalker 2
Developed by modder Inf_solv, Stalker Infinity represents numerous hours of fine-tuning and improvement by fans aimed at resolving issues, enhancing gameplay progression, and refining aspects such as weapon economy, among others.
In just a few days following its launch, the modder began a trip to correct aspects they disliked, and for a period of four months, they worked tirelessly without pause until they were completely content with their work, as stated on Nexus.
One significant shift in Stalker Infinity is the revamped method for managing stashes, now governed by a “novel system” that decides the contents within each stash. Unlike before where the loot was predefined, you may stumble upon a seemingly ordinary backpack filled with abundant supplies, or discover a scarcely found box containing beans instead.
The modder notes that each cache could potentially contain uncommon treasures, yet none are certain to overflow with items.
To make the game more balanced, players will no longer discover top-tier weapons in the early stages of the Zone. Instead, the progression has been reworked so that endgame items are now found predominantly in later zones. However, if you’re familiar with the right locations, you can still obtain high-level equipment, but it will be significantly more challenging.
As a dedicated gamer stepping into the world of Stalker 2, I’m thrilled about the complete revamp of the economy, but what truly excites me is the overhaul in combat mechanics. The Stalker Infinity mod promises a near-authentic ballistics simulation experience, with bullet drop-off and dispersion even when aiming down sights. Each bullet packs a punch, dealing significantly more damage compared to before. The realistic armor defense and ammo weight add to the immersion, making every shot count and every bullet feel valuable. It’s like stepping into a battlefield where every decision matters, and every bullet fired could be my last. Can’t wait to give it a try!
Furthermore, the game’s Artifacts have undergone a total makeover, featuring numerous novel effects that are so impressive you might not even consider selling them. As anticipated, you’ll require an exceptional detector to locate some of these potent new tools, but the payoff will be significantly greater.
To experience Stalker Infinity, you’ll need to initiate a fresh save game. Given the extensive modifications made, it doesn’t mesh with regular game data. However, these remarkable changes make for an enjoyable playthrough that outweighs the inconvenience. Since there’s no New Game+ feature in the original game, we’re accustomed to starting new games frequently.
To delve deeper into the updates regarding Stalker, explore the developers’ intentions to design user-friendly modifying tools. Furthermore, learn about the events that led to a massive blaze, compelling them to reconstruct the game altogether.
