Netflix Responds to Avengers: Doomsday Cast Announcement (& Promotes Everybody’s Live)

Earlier today, Marvel Studios and The Russo Brothers captured everyone’s curiosity as they unveiled the cast for Avengers: Doomsday. Their surprise choices definitely left fans in awe during this major Marvel gathering. The unique method of displaying the cast by placing names on chairs sparked plenty of creative memes and parodies. Netflix delivered one of the most entertaining responses, which doubled as promotion for the latest episode of John Mulaney’s Everybody’s Live. You can see it in the post below.

Tonight at 7 PM PST, Netflix is airing a particularly impressive episode, and they’ve swapped out the lineup for Avengers: Doomsday to feature this standout show’s talent pool. You can look forward to seats filled by John Mulaney, Richard Kind, Saymo, Pete Davidson, Luenell, Henry Winkler, funeral director Raymundo Perez-Plascencia, and musical guest Mannequin Pussy.

Netflix posted pictures with the message, “Get comfortable. #EverybodysWatching at 10pm ET / 7pm PT”, cleverly echoing Marvel’s famous “take a seat” caption from their Doomsday cast reveal. Netflix is certainly keeping the excitement going, given they are also promoting their own program airing later that day.

During a span of 5 hours, Marvel unveiled 27 actors who have appeared in recent Marvel productions and movies that aren’t part of the MCU. Among them were expected or presumed cast members such as Robert Downey Jr., Anthony Mackie, Vanessa Kirby, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. However, there were also some delightful surprises, many of which hail from the X-Men films that were produced before the MCU.

Beyond Kelsey Grammer’s reappearance as Beast (seen in the post-credits sequence of The Marvels), the film will also bring back actors like Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and Alan Cumming, among others. However, what left everyone astonished was Channing Tatum’s return, seemingly taking on his role from Deadpool and Wolverine as the beloved Cajun character Gambit.

As Doomsday approaches, there might be additional surprises in store for us. Fingers crossed that Everybody’s Live can handle whatever comes next, much like they did here. It’s possible that Marvel Cinematic Universe actors could join the show at some point – we’ll simply have to stay tuned and find out!
