Konami, the publisher, has unveiled Gradius Origins, an anthology that showcases several games from its iconic shoot-’em-up lineage. (Or simply: Konami announces Gradius Origins, a collection featuring many titles from its classic shooter series.)
Coming to PS5 on 7th August, 2025, Gradius Origins features the following titles:
- Gradius
- Gradius II: Gofer no Yabou
- Gradius III: Densetsu kara Shinwa e
- Life Force
- Salamander
- Salamander 2
- Salamander 3
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that among the collection, Salamander 3 stands out as a fresh, innovative creation by the talented minds at M2. The rest of the games, however, are timeless classics, hailing from various eras in gaming history.
As a devoted enthusiast, I must express that this collection boasts no less than seven captivating games! What’s even more intriguing is that many of these games offer numerous regional versions, adding an extra layer of diversity and charm to each title.
In line with what one might anticipate from such a compilation, numerous user-friendly elements have been incorporated to soften the rougher aspects reminiscent of classic games. Features like save states, rewind, Invincible mode, and Training mode are designed to facilitate newcomers, while Gallery mode offers the opportunity to enjoy music and visuals from all the included games.
