The eagerly awaited life simulation game, titled “inZOI“, has now become available in Early Access on Steam. Although many Sims enthusiasts have been thrilled about this release, the high PC requirements and unspecified use of Denuvo software in its demo have led to some dampened expectations for the life sim. However, within just a day of being in Early Access, “inZOI” has already created a stir as the top-selling game on Steam with a notable 85K peak players and a steadily growing number. Despite its relatively expensive $40 price tag for Early Access, it appears that “inZOI” may successfully draw in a substantial player base.
Last week during a live stream, developer Krafton unveiled their strategy for Early Access of the game, inZOI. Although the $40 price might appear steep for an incomplete game, all additional downloadable content during Early Access will be provided as free updates. This is particularly appealing to Sims enthusiasts who are growing weary of paying for each new expansion pack. With a new expansion for The Sims 4 typically costing $40, the price of inZOI seems much more attractive. Indeed, this sentiment resonates with many gamers as close to 90,000 people flocked to give the new life simulation game a try on its very first day.
Apart from boasting a high Concurrent count on Steam, the game inZOI has also received a Very Positive rating from users. With over 2,000 reviews, it currently holds an impressive 82.39% rating. This is not quite as high as competitor The Sims 4, which consistently maintains an 87% rating for its base game. However, with more content planned and official mod support being introduced to allow creators to customize the game like they have with The Sims, it’s clear that this is a promising start for inZOI.
Early Reactions Praise inZOI as “Better Than Expected”
Players approached inZOI with a mix of apprehension and hope due to The Sims’ long history of content and lore. Even though it’s still in Early Access, the game has won over many players with its flexible gameplay and unexpectedly good PC optimization. Moreover, its humor offers more than one might anticipate for a game featuring hyper-realistic graphics, which could suggest an excessively realistic representation of life.
One captivating aspect of The Sims series is its flexibility, allowing players to engage in a variety of whimsical misadventures, including discovering creative methods to ‘end’ their Sims’ lives. It seems that inZOI intends to mimic this trend. As one Steam review from user @HenryChews puts it: “I met a girl in the park. We laughed, we hugged, we got engaged within an hour of our first date and then I woke up to a text saying she had passed away. 10/10 No Explanation.” Already, inZOI players are discovering numerous ways for their characters (zois) to depart the virtual world of life.

Players have enjoyed discovering various methods to cause mayhem in the open-world environment, such as colliding with Zois and sending them soaring. However, not all early players are fully content with the game. Given that it’s currently in Early Access, some find it lacking in depth compared to their expectations for a life simulation game. The world is vast but currently offers limited options, which leaves many gamers yearning for more diverse gameplay opportunities and overall content.
Krafton has announced that they’ll be adding fresh content to their game soon, with the first update slated for May 2025. This upcoming release will introduce in-game cheat codes, new adoption options, additional outfits, and enhancements to relationships. Additionally, it will provide a mod kit to foster greater player creativity and expand the game further.
Boasting a Highly Favorable Steam rating and increasing concurrent players, the game inZOI has dynamically entered the tranquil gaming sphere. In the forthcoming weeks, we’ll observe if this game can maintain its momentum before the initial major updates in May.
