In the standard tale, it’s believed that Superman, known as the Man of Steel, was an infant named Kal-El who was sent to Earth in a spaceship from his dying planet Krypton. However, in Absolute DC, Kal-El flees Krypton’s ruling system as a mature individual instead. Moreover, this revised timeline means that Superman doesn’t grow up with the Kent family or adopt the human identity of Clark Kent in this version. As with many alterations in Absolute DC’s mythology, this results in a distinctly different portrayal of Superman as he puts on his cape.

However, in the universe of Absolute DC, their relationship begins on a distinct note when Bruce is not born into a billionaire family. Instead, it is Alfred who encounters Batman before Bruce, as Absolute DC depicts Alfred as an undercover agent patrolling the streets of Gotham City. From this unique first encounter, Absolute Batman and Alfred Pennyworth forge a relationship that deviates significantly from the traditional one in the Absolute DC Universe.

Wonder Woman’s Lasso Of Truth Has Major New Powers

In the world of Absolute DC, I’ve seen the iconic armor of Superman reinvented over time, yet it continues to be a symbol of inspiration, though inanimate. However, they’ve taken this symbol to a whole new level by transforming it into a state-of-the-art super-suit infused with A.I., named Sol. This advanced suit is not just about enhancing battles; it’s assigned to safeguard Kal-El in his new home. Equipped with capabilities like energy blasts and shielding using ‘Sunstone Dust’, Sol offers a fresh, captivating twist to Superman’s origin tale in Absolute DC. It might seem unusual for Superman, the epitome of strength, to need protection or an A.I.-guided tech suit like Sol. But this reinvention adds an exciting new layer to his story.

Superman & Lois Lane Begin As Enemies

On my home planet, I’ve seen the harsh treatment of workers, especially miners, which has driven me to Earth with the mission of preventing such mistreatment in hazardous workplaces like mines, using my tech suit Sol for assistance. My attention quickly zeroes in on the Lazarus corporation, a company that relies on an army of Peacemaker enforcers. To my surprise, during my initial investigation, I find myself confronting an adversary I never expected – Lois Lane, who is revealed as a mercenary working for Lazarus in Absolute Superman #1. Though our powers and shared altruistic goals eventually lead Lois to join forces with me, it’s worth noting that we start off as enemies, with Lois even apprehending me, which is quite different from the traditional romantic relationship and journalistic partnership we share at the Daily Planet. However, this radical shift in our first encounter between Superman and Lois Lane is a testament to just how drastically different the universe of Absolute DC truly is.
