Instead of finding a free download for Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, fans have encountered a different scenario. The latest installment from Ubisoft in the Assassin’s Creed series has been available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S for more than a week now, and it’s received generally positive reviews so far. Although it’s faced some criticism and controversy, it seems set to overcome these hurdles and become a triumph for Ubisoft, which was a doubtful prospect at several stages previously.
Players currently engaged in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey might find it intriguing to learn they can download a bonus content for free. However, it should be noted that this additional content isn’t particularly exceptional. On social media platform X, Ubisoft Support has been reminding all fans of Assassin’s Creed that the “Thrown to the Dogs” extra quest is available to those who pre-ordered the game. At present, this is the sole method for gaining access to this quest. To clarify, if you choose not to explore this content, it seems there isn’t much you’re missing out on.
One disgruntled Assassin’s Creed player notes that this mission is likely over in just five minutes, which is significantly shorter than the bonus quests provided to early buyers of previous Assassin’s Creed games. This discrepancy has left some fans taken aback. The reward for finishing it, however, is a dog that joins their hideout, which might not be enough to satisfy all players.
One fan expressed their disappointment by saying, “I’m sorry, but I found that quest lacked excitement. It seemed more like additional content rather than a reward for pre-ordering. To me, it appeared as if it had been trimmed from the original game to boost pre-order sales.
The task seems utterly fruitless, as the prize for completing the mission is a timid canine. Another fan voices their confusion, wondering why such an insignificant reward is given so much importance for this quest.”
Or more casually:
“The task feels like a waste of time, since the prize for finishing it is just a skittish pup. One fan can’t help but wonder, what’s the big deal about this seemingly unimportant quest?
It’s uncertain whether this quest will become accessible to those who didn’t pre-order it, but there’s a chance that the pre-order exclusivity might eventually expire. However, if it does, it may simply be replaced by another form of payment requirement, such as buying an expansion or a special edition like a “Game of the Year” version. At this point, these are just assumptions, as Ubisoft has not released any official details about the situation.
The action-adventure game “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” can be played on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. For comprehensive coverage on the latest open-world RPG from Ubisoft, such as updates, rumors, leaks, and deals related to Assassin’s Creed, follow this link.
