Instead of Sony’s superior PS Portal device providing the optimal handheld experience for The Last of Us 2 Remastered, that title will now have official support on the Steam Deck once its PC version is released later this week, as confirmed by developer Naughty Dog.
Instead of streaming the game from your PS5 over the internet, you can download the PC version on Steam Deck for native play. This eliminates potential network problems and generally improves performance, assuming there are no PC-specific issues such as bugs or glitches.
Initially, The Last of Us faced issues with its PC version after its debut, but these were rectified over several months post-release. Now, you can look forward to playing The Last of Us Part II Remastered on your PC starting from April 3rd, 2025.
