Call the Midwife Star Makes SHOCK EastEnders Debut!

Viewers who love the BBC series “Call the Midwife” are all abuzz, as one of its previous cast members, Leonie Elliott, has made a guest appearance on “EastEnders.

From 2018, Elliott portrayed beloved character Lucille on Call the Midwife. However, he departed from the series in 2023 and hasn’t made an appearance on television screens since then.

Yet, she’s back on TV in EastEnders, portraying a disguised reporter who is secretly befriending Bianca to uncover her next major scoop.

In response to her presence in a Facebook fan community, according to Leicester Mercury, one admirer expressed doubt, stating, “It certainly doesn’t seem like who she claims to be,” before mentioning that they initially failed to recognize her from her role as Lucile in Call the Midwife.

I too recognized Elliott from Call the Midwife, and I had to do a double-take when I saw her here!

After Elliott departed from Call the Midwife, she expressed gratitude to her fans via a Twitter post, which is now known as X, writing: “I’m grateful to each one of you for welcoming Lucille into your lives and joining me in this adventure. With a heart overflowing with love and appreciation, I set off towards new horizons.

After being part of an exceptional series for six years, working alongside an amazing group, my affection for Lucille has only grown stronger.

She went on saying, “It’s a great privilege for me to be a part of honoring the groundbreaking Windrush generation and the immense influence they’ve had on British culture.

As a film enthusiast, I’m absolutely thrilled to extend my heartfelt gratitude to an extraordinary cast and an exceptionally skilled creative team. A big thanks to Heidi Thomas, Pippa Harris, and Annie Triclebank for their outstanding talent that has brought our vision to life. Their brilliance is truly unmatched!
