Tekken 8’s latest update for Paul Season 2 is busted and is making players plug!
Bandai Namco’s planned seasonal update was released for Anna and game tweaks.
However, an unfortunate side effect is Paul and one other character being busted online.
Paul Season 2 Glitch
Typically, newly released DLC characters are found to be too powerful (or “busted”). This was the case with Anna Williams, who has a very aggressive playstyle that many players adopted upon her release. Interestingly, despite this popularity, you won’t find many Annas in online games.
Instead, you’ll only encounter Jacks or Pauls (in the case of Season 2). To clarify, this update essentially made it difficult to compete with Paul, as it significantly reduced your chances of beating him.
According to Paul’s initial moves 1 and 2, followed by action 4, the result is a hit that cannot be dodged, avoided, or blocked with armor. Moreover, there’s no time for reaction as it leaves Paul in a neutral state afterwards.

Indeed, what’s happening isn’t quite as intended. Instead of a standing block move, an unexpected bug makes the game interpret your forward 1+2 action as crouching. This means that if you attempt to block the initial part, you will incur unavoidable damage totaling 24 points!

A significant number of users have demonstrated and verified this fact via video uploads online. Moreover, the training dummies are adjusted in such a way that they prevent characters from standing or crouching, and they’re completely incapable of hindering these actions. Notably, the Paul Season 2 update has made him an unrivaled powerhouse among characters at present.

Additionally, Jack brings some unique, challenging maneuvers into the game. One of these is an unstoppable jumping shield move during his stance, which can’t be countered or responded to, leaving opponents with no choice but to let him take his turn.
The issues with Paul Season 2 and various modifications have significantly impacted the Steam Page ratings, prompting numerous users to express their worries through unfavorable reviews and social media messages.
Harrada Yamete
It’s quite clear that the reception for Season 2 hasn’t been favorable, given issues like the Paul Season 2 bug and excessive combo damage.

To maintain balance, I’d also like to point out some positive aspects from the update. Firstly, I appreciate that the practice stage is now accessible on all maps indefinitely within the practice mode. Yet, I can’t help but wonder why they didn’t create a separate stage for this feature and make it truly infinite.
Additionally, Anna is a strong character on her own merit, but it’s important to note that some of her actions can be quite extravagant.
Thirdly, it’s become simpler for me to climb ranks, given that I can effortlessly secure victories due to Paul Season 2!
Although Bandai plans to resolve the issue shortly, I prefer to keep this problem visible to highlight the developers’ determination to release the game in a less than perfect state. It seems they prioritized addressing fan complaints by overloading the server with necessary fixes, rather than focusing on additional offensive features.
After experimenting with Paul Season 2 and other games for some time, it’s quite apparent that the matches resemble prolonged slapping contests among players, each trying to slap the hardest. Moreover, the developers’ reaction to the feedback has raised some concerns.
This refers to Namco’s heritage, a company often perceived as lacking clarity in their strategies and seemingly detached from the elements that fans found enjoyable in their games.

It appears they dislike the idea of avoiding attacks through side-steps or dodges as a defensive strategy. Instead, they seem to believe that the ability to jab or attack should suffice. However, I hope Bandai makes necessary adjustments swiftly and modifies the game according to the fans’ desires.
Instead of constantly seeing Paul spam attacks and Jack leaps, how about we focus on enhancing Heihachi for a change?
