Developer Cattle Call, in collaboration with publisher Square Enix, has unveiled a high-definition remaster of the turn-based RPG “Bravely Default: Flying Fairy” for the Nintendo Switch. This enhanced version is set to release simultaneously with the console on June 5th.

The popular RPG franchise, the “Bravely” series, which has sold over three million copies globally, is making a return to Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, 2025. This includes the original title, “Bravely Default,” which served as the foundation for “Octopath Traveler.” The game will be released in high definition.
Beyond the traditional storyline featuring crystals and heroes of light, customizable parties based on jobs, and the game’s signature Brave & Default combat system, the game also offers improved features to enhance your gaming experience, making it easier and more enjoyable to play.

Make for the Distant Land of Luxendarc as a Warrior of Light
Out of nowhere, an immense fissure suddenly appeared, disrupting the world’s balance. Tiz, the lone inhabitant left from a devoured village, finds himself in this dire situation. Plunged into despair, he crosses paths with a young priestess named Agnes. Joined together, they embark on a quest to seal the fissure and rescue the crystals trapped in darkness.
They set off, entirely unaware of the significance of that goal.

The remastered version of “Bravely Default: Flying Fairy” offers all the beneficial aspects from its Nintendo 3DS predecessor, including battle speed-up options and adjustable enemy encounter rates. Additionally, it boasts improved features such as high-definition graphics, a revamped user interface, fast-forward functionality for event scenes, and two fresh minigames. The networking elements initially available on the Nintendo 3DS have been optimized for the free network connectivity of the Nintendo Switch 2.
Battle
In the game Bravely Default, mastering the key factors (Brave Points or BP) that influence the quantity of your moves during combat is crucial for victory. Two commands introduce an exciting layer to battles: you can “brave” to spend BP and take additional actions within a turn, or “default” to fortify your defenses while amassing BP for future use.
