In the future, there’s a possibility that Sony might create a movie based on their popular platforming series, Astro Bot, since PlayStation Productions head, Asad Qizilbash, has mentioned they are seriously thinking about making a film adaption, stating it is “absolutely” under consideration.
Based on the original suggestion, Qizilbash clarified to Variety why Sony chose to develop their PS5 franchise further. Last year’s PS5 release garnered numerous awards and attracted a passionate audience, which served as early signs for them to expand this franchise and its intellectual property. In other words, they are always on the lookout for opportunities to grow these properties.
He clarified, “It’s not only accolades and recognition that fuel this process. Sometimes, we possess intellectual properties with compelling narratives, which the creators are passionate about adapting.
In Astro Bot games, although they have a simple narrative like repairing a PS5 spaceship, the gameplay is what truly drives the series. Yet, as shown by The Super Mario Bros. Movie in 2023, it’s not necessary to have an intricate story to achieve success.
