On stage, Kevin Fiege unveiled the expanding roster for Avengers: Doomsday and offered a tantalizing glimpse of exclusive footage from Fantastic Four: First Steps. Being there, I was among the privileged few to learn some intriguing plot details about the upcoming Fantastic Four movie that could reshape the Marvel Cinematic Universe entirely. Can’t wait to see the Silver Surfer in action!
The Fantastic Four: First Steps” presents a nostalgic journey into the ’60s, adorned with vintage-inspired motifs. Starring an enchanting ensemble consisting of Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn as Marvel’s founding family, this movie chronicles their struggle to adapt to their newly acquired powers while combating the impending threat of Galactus, who aims to devastate their planet. Joining them in this adventure are notable actors like Paul Walter-Houser, Julia Garner, Natasha Lyonne, John Malkovich, and Ralph Ineson.
“The Fantastic Four” is poised to pave the way for the eagerly awaited “Doomsday” film next year, and we’ve just learned that all four principal actors will reprise their roles in the upcoming “Avengers” film.
At CinemaCon, various sources have verified that we’ll first see Julia Garner portraying Silver Surfer, a character from the comics who serves as a Herald of Galactus and glides on a silver surfboard. For those present, like EW, they’ve observed that this character is both radiant and menacing. The footage screened offers a glimpse into Matt Shakman’s approach for this production, with the narrative maintaining a 60s vibe, as the Fantastic Four make their appearance on an old-fashioned talk show setting. It was also disclosed that the title First Steps carries a new significance this time, as it was confirmed that Sue Storm is expecting a child.
Rise of the Silver Surfer, with help from actors Doug Jones and Laurence Fishburne. For the first time on the big screen, we’ll see Shalla-Bal, a character that has been eagerly anticipated by fans. In this film, Julia Garner from Ozark will portray Sue Storm’s female counterpart. Although it remains uncertain if Silver Surfer will appear in future MCU productions, the enthusiastic fan reaction does instill optimism that her performance will be prominently showcased within the film.
