Microsoft is celebrating its 50th anniversary today, April 4.
In honor of this significant achievement, the company has unveiled eight unique Windows background designs, each carrying nostalgic themes for individuals who have been associated with the company over the past fifty years.

You can find wallpapers on Microsoft’s blog, each one is a compressed pack for download. These wallpapers were designed collaboratively by three Microsoft designers, showcasing some memorable milestones throughout the company’s extensive past.
Each wallpaper comes in both light and dark versions. Here’s a brief overview of the eight new wallpapers recently unveiled by Microsoft.
The Windows logo background, designed by Microsoft’s creative director Chris Palazzo, serves as a means of expressing his emotional response to witnessing the Windows 95 startup screen.
As a researcher, I’ve always had a fondness for DOS. Each and every time a new version of Windows was released, I found myself awestruck.

Designed by You Zhang, the Microsoft Mahjong desktop background is a homage to the game that was launched in 2012.
It’s enjoyable to reminisce about the past. Combining classic and contemporary elements can create timeless designs that resonate with people of all ages.

That feeling is captured by art director Yulia Makhmudova in this Cascading Solitare wallpaper.
