In Marvel’s latest comic series, Wolverines & Deadpools, the formidable duo of Wolverine and Deadpool is taking their teamwork to the next level by including their daughters, Laura Kinney (X-23) and Ellie Camacho, in the action. Writer Cody Ziglar and artist Roge Antonio are crafting an epic tale that puts family at its core as these four heroes embark on a major mission against a well-known X-Men adversary. Check out the initial cover previews below to get a sneak peek!
This new development in the Deadpool series follows on from the narrative by Ziglar and Antonio last year, where they brought back Ellie into Wade’s storyline. When Wade suffered an injury, Ellie temporarily took up the mantle of Deadpool until his recovery. Now, she is teaming up with her father in their adventures.
Laura has grown accustomed to working with Logan, having collaborated with him multiple times before and sharing a past team membership in X-Force. What’s more, she’s had her share of solo missions, even acting as the sole Wolverine when Logan was stuck in adamantium.
They’re reuniting with the Deadpool crew once more, but we’ll find out their opponents when the three-part series launches in July. Over time, Wolverine and Deadpool have amassed quite a few adversaries, and it would be intriguing to see some iconic X-villains take on this formidable team.
Ziglar expressed that the past 15 issues he’s been writing for Wade and Ellie have been an extraordinary experience, almost like a dream come true. He added that wrapping up their storyline with two fascinating mutants makes it even better; he’s thrilled about delving into the complex father-daughter dynamics of these characters.
Above are two different covers – one by Antonio and another by Taurin Clarke. The first issue of Wolverine & Deadpool is due in comic book stores on July 2nd. You’ll find the official description for it below.
Imagine if the absolute top-tier partnered with the smart-mouthed Mercenary! How about we bring Ellie Camacho and Laura Kinney into the mix as they take on a timeless X-Men villain? It’s Wolverines and Deadpools, here we come!
