The series “Witch Watch” has officially joined the bustling Spring 2025 anime lineup, with its opening being handled by the acclaimed director Megumi Ishitani, who gained significant recognition from her work on the “One Piece” series. In recent years, Ishitani’s talent was showcased prominently during the Wano Country Arc of “One Piece,” and their reputation skyrocketed further with the release of a new special, titled “One Piece Fan Letter.” This special remains one of the highest-rated episodes ever made, and fans have been captivated by Ishitani’s work ever since.
Currently, the director is focusing on “Witch Watch” this Spring, as it recently premiered last week. The Shonen Jump series is quite significant since it’s the next major franchise from the magazine to receive an official anime adaptation, and its opening certainly adds to its appeal. You can catch it streaming on platforms such as Netflix, Hulu, Crunchyroll, and others (excluding Japan). The show is planned to last for two consecutive seasons, meaning it will air during both the Spring and Summer 2025 schedules before wrapping up this initial season. Ishitani may have handled the opening theme sequence, but an entirely separate group is responsible for the complete production.
Hiroshi Ikehata and Masao Kawase are working together to create the new anime titled “Witch Watch,” which is being produced by Bibury Animation Studio. Deko Akao is in charge of the scriptwriting, Haruko Iizuka handles the character designs, Mutsumi Takemiya edits the anime, and Yukari Hashimoto composes the music. The English voice actors for this series are Lily Ki “Lilypichu” as Nico Wakatsuki, Stephen Fu as Morihito Otogi, Caleb Yen as Kanshi Kazamatsuri, Kevin K.
