This morning saw the launch of an exciting new event for the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket, introducing a grand total of 5 fresh promo cards. Among these are refreshed designs of popular characters like Bidoof, Ekans, Floatzel, and Machamp. However, the star attraction of this event is undoubtedly a promo card inspired by Pawmot. This special card showcases stunning full-art imagery not only of Pawmot, but also of its evolutions, Pawmi and Pawmo. Players have until April 16th at 10:59 p.m. PT to participate in a Drop event and collect these 5 cards. With the event ending soon, enthusiasts are racing against time to complete their sets.
For individuals new to Drop events, here’s a straightforward explanation: These events involve players engaging in individual battles, with victory potentially earning Promo Packs as rewards. During the Pawmot Drop event, winning matches might yield a Promo Pack from A Series Vol. 6. These packs, once obtained, are treated similarly to any other in-game packs. The unique aspect is that these packs contain a single, randomly selected promo card. Initially, players receive specific first-time rewards, followed by random chance rewards for subsequent victories.
In the latest addition to the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket, cards modeled after Pawmot’s evolutionary chain were included in the Shining Revelry pack. Today, a promotional card was unveiled, mirroring the Electric Punch attack and Counterattack ability of the card found in Shining Revelry. Since these are the only differences between the two cards, those who can’t join this event won’t miss out on much – just the artwork changes. However, for players who already have a deck utilizing the Pawmot line, this new design is an attractive addition.
In the Drop tournament, competitors will face off against single combat scenarios leveraging Pawmot. Similar to other Electric-type cards, Pawmot has a vulnerability to Fighting-based attacks, so players could benefit from constructing a deck that exploits this weakness. Since Pawmot’s Counterattack ability inflicts 20 damage on the attacking Pokemon, it’s advisable for players to deal as much damage in the shortest number of turns possible.
It’d be great if gamers can manage to collect all 5 promotional cards before the Drop event concludes. Since the packs are randomly distributed, it may require numerous victories to gather them all. This is a common occurrence in such events, but since there isn’t a single-player mode in Pokemon TCG Pocket, players can experiment with various strategies and potentially discover cards they wouldn’t have used otherwise!
