Death Stranding Movie Will Be Helmed by A Quiet Place: Day One’s Michael Sarnoski

According to reports from Deadline, the acclaimed filmmaker Michael Sarnoski (known for his work on Pig) has been tapped to direct the upcoming movie adaptation of Death Stranding.

The movie, first mentioned more than a year back, is rumored to delve into the “enigmatic aspects linked to the titular Death Stranding.” This hints that it might potentially serve as a prelude.

At present, Sarnoski is nearing completion with his ongoing project titled “The Death of Robin Hood,” starring Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer. He’s particularly renowned for his work on the spin-off film “A Quiet Place: Day One,” which enjoyed significant box office success.

It’s uncertain at this point if Norman Reedus, Lea Seydoux, or Margaret Qualley will return to their roles for the film, but it appears that the project is still in its initial stages.

In approximately two months, Death Stranding 2: On the Shore will debut on PlayStation 5, resuming the narrative of main character Sam Porter Bridges, as he ventures further into a post-cataclysmic United States.

Kojima Productions has been confirmed to be responsible for creating the movie, giving them creative control over the project. Additionally, there are indications that they are planning to adapt their upcoming cross-media stealth action title, Physint, into a film with Sony.
