Amidst all the fuss surrounding the James Bond series, there’s some fantastic news for franchise enthusiasts! For the very first time, the iconic James Bond films featuring Sean Connery will be available on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray. Just last month, this was initially announced, and now we have more details: a Limited Edition set is in the works, which will comprise six Steelbooks, each containing an image from the film related to Sean Connery. Additionally, every copy of the Limited Edition Steelbook Library Case will come with a certificate of authenticity, numbered uniquely.
On June 10th, you’ll have the chance to own all six Sean Connery James Bond films in either standard or limited edition 4K Ultra HD + Digital sets. At present, specifics about included special features remain undisclosed; we’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available. You can pre-order your desired set through the links provided below.
- 007: James Bond – Sean Connery 6-Film Collection (4K Ultra HD + Digital) – See on Amazon ($104.98)
- 007: James Bond – Sean Connery 6-Film Collection – Limited Edition Steelbook Library Case (4K Ultra HD + Digital) – See on Amazon ($139.99)
- Given that the Steelbook set is a limited edition that will likely sell out before the release date, you might want to reserve a copy sooner rather than later. You wont be charged until it ships.
The six movies in these collection boxes are: Dr. No (made in 1962), From Russia with Love (1963), Goldfinger (1964), Thunderball (1965), You Only Live Twice (1967), and Diamonds Are Forever (1971). In case you’re curious, Never Say Never Again (1983) isn’t part of the set because it wasn’t a Bond film produced by Eon Productions.
From a die-hard Bond fan like myself, I can tell you that as of now, there’s no concrete roadmap for where our beloved spy will be heading next in his thrilling escapades. However, the winds of change are stirring with the arrival of the masterminds behind Spider-Man and Harry Potter productions joining the Bond franchise team. Buckle up, fellow fans, it seems we’re about to embark on a new era of Bond adventures!
Amazon’s CEO, Andy Jassy, discussed their newfound creative control over the James Bond series in an interview with CNBC. He mentioned that they don’t have a specific plan for the next theme just yet, as no one has written the story as of now. However, he assured that they will handle it with utmost care, considering it a fantastic franchise that they value deeply and intend to nurture for an extended period.
